TERRIBLE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. FOOD WAS DRY AND COLD. THEY USE PLASTIC PLATES SPOONS AND FORKS. THE COOKS WOULD COME OUT AND WATCH YOU GET FOOD AND IT WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND UNWELCOMING. YEARS AGO THE PLACE WAS CLEAN FOOD WAS GREAT BUT ITS SO TERRIBLE NOW. THE RESTROOMS WERE VERY VERY VERY DISGUSTING THERE WAS TRASH ALL OVER THE FLOOR ITS ABSOLUTELY DIRTY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PLEASE DO NOT EAT THERE!
Don't understand the bad reviews. We went there at 5:30P for dinner (reluctantly after reading the reviews). We were greeted by the lady at the front. It wasn't busy, but there were some families there with screaming kids. We asked to be seated far away, and she laughed and took us away from them. I was expecting dog food. But was pleasantly surprised. By no means was it 5 star, but for the price it was well worth it. Definitely will return.
this place has food. I need food to live. without food we would starve. I don’t want to starve.
i honestly thought it was going to be good, it wasn’t. We wanted to get a refill but this guy ignored us until we asked again. My cousin said ‘ can I have a refill’ the guy looked at my cousin and walked away. worst place ever
An absolute disappointment, food wasn’t cooked right, they had plastic for the plates, silverware and cups. The food was disgusting, the crab smelled horrible, the noddles were soggy, the salmon looked like it was made of plastic, the Ham and rice didn’t even have ham. Not worth the 40$, Plus me and a friend went and we got food poisoning. Just don’t go, not worth it.
Not my favorite place in Bakersfield for Chinese food. They seem to use imitation crab for most of the “crab” dishes, the sushi was not good at all, and the food was over all decent. Not good, not horrible just blah. The selection was pretty good though, and the service for drinks and picking up plates was great!
I've been eating there for about 5 years now ever since covid came they've never been the same and it was an awful experience today their quality was the poorest I've ever seen of any Chinese buffet in my life I will never go there again
Very little variety, many items off temperature. Higher prices than most Chinese Buffets. Food poorly presented: Orange Chicken FLOATING in its sauce, soggy/cold Spring rolls. *Still using plastic plates, forks, soda cups - well after Covid restrictions lifted. Definitely not going back to this one!
My family and I love China Star! The price is great and the atmosphere is homey. Great service, and even better food. Our favorites are the Egg Rolls, Sesame Balls, and the MUST have crab legs. Can’t get any better then this, affordable, clean, tasty, what more could you ask for?!?
I ate here growing up and absolutely love the food! And the service is amazing :)
