Cute hole in the wall place. Staff was friendly. Got a trip tip and pulled pork sandwiches, meat tasted boiled, fairly well smoked, sauce was bland and watered down.. overall not horrible but not worth going out for, to me anyway..
This is sub par and overpriced, especially for a 4.5 star rating!? What is the actual #[email protected]! Basically tough meat with minimal smoke flavor covered in KRAFT Spicy BBQ sauce. This is what I thought bbq was when I was a child.If you are looking for some homemade BBQ, look elsewhere. Absolutely disappointed.
This little hole in the wall BBQ joint off of Hwy 80 in Auburn, is a good surprise for my wife and I. We love finding hidden gems and this is one of those. You won't be disappointed! I had the 3 meat combo with ribs, link and brisket along with macaroni salad and fries.
Me likey... great taste, good portions, good price. Besides my own, best BBQ I've had in years.
The food was very tasty. I had the brisket sandwich my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. I like my brisket without being smothered in so much sauce, so next time I will ask for sauce on the side. But it had a really good flavor and the barbecued beans were great. I will definitely come back.
What a great BBQ "joint" - reminds me of a hole in the wall you would find in Alabama or small town Texas. Everything I have had here is excellent, but let me tell you - I used to live in the South and have had BBQ from many different places, but the ribs here at Smokey Pit are maybe the best I have ever had - tender, great flavor, their sauce is fantastic! Sides like potato salad and cole slaw are also tasty. Prices are reasonable and service is top notch. If you like BBQ and you are in the area or just passing through, you have to try this place!
I can not speak high enough of the bbq here, it is wonderful. Some of the best tasting fries around. I love getting the brisket with light sauce or ribs with his sauce on the side.
This bbq house is ran by the original owner of Pit Stop. He still makes the best bbq around. The new owners at Pit Stop will tell you they are the original owner but the food speaker for itself. Don't be fooled Ssc.
