We have eating here for years. I it is the best Mexican food in the area! Great food and great service!

Been going here for years. Usually one of the best in Auburn. Carnitas extremely salty this time. Looks like either new cooks or new ownership or both.
Wide selection in their menu. Had their carnitas tacos. Yummy!!!I do recommend them.
DON'T ORDER FROM THEIR ONLINE SITE! We've been going to El Portal for many years now, good Mexican food at a reasonable price. Today we ordered takeout using their preferred online ordering method and wow, the prices had really shot up. When I went in to pick up the food I discovered they have different prices online than in person and the online prices were about 25% higher plus a service fee! We live about 20 minutes from El Portal so it's convenient to order online then hop in the car to go pick it up. Never again. Ordering a super burrito and a one item combo costs $5 more online than in person.
Been there twice.. Food was hot and delicious, service was great the first time and ok the second. Definitely good size portions
Really good for a quick stop on the way home. Tacos were great and staff was friendly and attentive. I'll go back as it's in my line of travel getting back home.
Mediocre food, soggy crunchy tacos, soggy nachos, they tell you 25mins but make your food immediately then let it sit for 20mins till you arrive. Really terrible service and not great food at all.DO NOT buy food near closing, they will charge your card and not make your food. Then refund the card later.How this place is still in business amd has good reviews is beyond me.....maybe it's a place you have to dine in to enjoy but trust me, we have tried this place multiple times in the hopes that they could redeem themselves but nope.
My wife's favorite Mexican food restaurant in the Auburn area. Good food at a fair price. Her current favorite is the Molcajete. The al pastor is my current favorite. Been eating here quite a few years and will continue to do so.
