Used to come here before Covid and was pretty awesome all around. Stopped coming because service went down hill and there were so many other Shabu options around to try. Fast forward a few years and wanted to give them another try. They are exclusively outside dining now. Good for us since we have a pup.Meat quality was good, not great. Sauces were also good, but have had some better Goma sauces at other establishments. My gf didn’t love her spicy miso (a little watery) but I enjoyed my fire crab broth. Probably because I was getting tired of the typical miso, tomato and konbu you get everywhere else. They also have Tom Yum, kimchee and a few other options so the variety was a pleasant surprise. I though the price was pretty reasonable as well.Service was decent, but you do have to flag people down for extra sauce and water. Last but not least, we noticed they had the other garnishes like green onion and garlic at their base station, but didn’t offer it unless you asked. Same with the spice drops. I asked for some and they wouldn’t let me serve myself which was a little annoying. We will be back because of the outdoor seating/pet friendly and broth variety. Service was good enough and we have a little experience under our belt for next time.
10/10 met a princess-looking cook who looks like she can manipulate water. I also met a servant who looks like a general of a resistance.

Great place. Pride of ownership. Quality food.
No that great
Their fried noodles & chicken are delicious. Very nice staff & the food always good. Their prices are affordable. ?????
Awsume
Terrible outdoor service. Waiters were extremely slow, and they were just chatting around with each other near the entrance. It was not a busy night. It took about 15-20 min to place our order, another 15-20 min for entrees to arrive, then another 10 minutes for appetizers, then 5 more minutes for a beer that we ordered 30+ minutes ago!! Yes, in that order. The shabu tasted decent, however I did get sick later. And I never get sick from food (I have an iron tummy usually, lol). I’d avoid the kokumi sushi roll.Definitely will not return.
Kokumi is very similar to Jazz Cat. You pick a meat and a broth then they bring it out to you with some rice and veggies. The food tastes great. No complaints there. The service at Kokumi though, is pretty horrible. They pretty much forgot about us. It took forever to take our order. We nearly walked out. Drinks came out after our entrees. People who came after us, got their food and drinks before us. Everything was just super slow. Meanwhile, an ex-employee across from us, gets superb service. The staff has time to joke around with him non-stop but no time to do their job. It’s pretty rare that I leave a zero tip but Kokumi deserved it. I wouldn’t recommend eating here.Update: Wife got food poisoning from eating here. Just stay away from this place.
Food was just ok
