The chicken strips and chicken sandwich was fantastic. However for the price I paid, the slice of bread with my tenders was absolutely stale, the fries were cold and stiff, and the buns on the chicken sandwich were also cold. I was also disappointed when I opened the box and saw this tiny amount of fries. The Mac n cheese is $5 and comes in a teeny tiny little cup that can be finished in 3 spoonfuls. I feel like there's a lot of promise in this place but this was not worth it.
Ordered the half chicken extra hot and solo tender mild. Got to say I loved the chicken. Nice crunch, juicy and great base flavors to both bone in and the tender. My issue is with the dry spices. The extra hot was not very hot and since only dry sauces, didn’t add much. The come back sauce is basically “1000 island”, which the cashier said exactly that and big sexy is buffalo sauce, again as cashier described them. Would have been nice if there was some uniqueness to the sauces and/or able to choose heat levels to add the needed kick. The spicy Kringle cut fries were pretty good though. The biggest issue was probably the wait time. About 30 - 40 min wait time. I assumed it was for the bone in chicken, but was told that it was for the fries which seemed a little weird, since many others got their orders before us even though they ordered after us. I guess will have to order ahead next time or do some shopping after ordering.
Food was great, my complaint is it took 30 Minutes to get my food. I was the only person to tip the girl, and they gave my order to someone else, didn't check to see if that other guy had the right number for pickup. Just 2 workers with a line 5 deep. One to take your order, and a cook. Need one to pack the orders when the cook is done. Cashier had to pause while packing orders. I'm done, won't go back.
Jay Bird's is officially our favorite hot chicken sandwich! Holy hot chicken Batman! This was our first visit and it most certainly will not be our last.We both ordered the Chicken Sandwich and fries. I chose medium and my wife chose hot. Since it was our first experience we chose the smoked tomato ketchup and the ranch.First the fries. How do I describe them? If Shake Shack's fries had a spicy little brother. Crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside, generously dusted with cayenne powder. These little guys pack a punch. I believe the heat on the fries makes the house made sauces even more delicious as they prepare your palate for the main event.Iiit's Time!!! The main event of the evening! The reigning, defending, undisputed heavyweight champion of the chicken sandwich wars... Jay Bird's!What is the first bite like you may ask? That moment at the end of the first Matrix movie when Morphius realizes that Neo is the chosen one. That's the feeling. This sandwich is the chosen one. All the other spicy chicken sandwiches from the chain restaurants should turn and run just like the agents did after Neo defeated Agent Smith and then bent reality with his power.Seven ounces of juicy chicken breast cutlet fried to crispy perfection. The cutlet is thin and large, spilling out of the big brioche bun all around. The ratio of sauce to slaw to pickle to bun is also perfect. Double perfection.Wait a minute, if seven is the number of perfection, then this sandwich is triple perfection.Bonus information: This small franchise started in Long Beach and currently has six locations with plans to expand to more than twenty in 2022.So, do yourself a favor and give this place a try soon. This place has outstanding Nashville style Hot Chicken. Came for lunch and got the Two Jumbo Tenders combo with Spicy fries $10.99 and it was delicious. The Extra hot spice level pushed me to my limit without pushing me over the edge. My server Matt was friendly and got my order to me quickly. Located inside the Westfield Arcadia mall across from Din Tai Fung.
First time at restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich with Fries. Having coleslaw in my sandwich was a new experience, different. I assumed it was going to be a side dish. I think I would have preferred it on the side. A lady sitting next to me was also eating here for the first time and had mac n cheese in her sandwich. BUT the french fries were way toooooooo spicy. They had a red powdered spice on them. It completely ruined my lunch. I should have stopped and not finished them, but I didn't want to waste my food. I think this is their regular recipe for their fries. Good thing I asked for a non-spicy sandwich! If you like it hot and spicy, this place is for you! Otherwise, don't ask for fries!
In my opinion probably the best place for fried chicken sandwiches. Every thing is full of flavor. Not overwhelmingly greasy and the chicken has a nice crisp.Coleslaw has a hint of vinegar flavor which combines very well with the chicken. The potato salad has bacon bits in itThe Mac n cheese nice and cheesy. Definitely has that cheesy flavor just like it should.Quality is consistent. Everything always taste the same
The chicken sandwich is heavy and not very flavourful at the mild level unfortunately. The mac and cheese was forgettable nothing stands out on it. I did enjoy the fries with the spicy dry rub they season them with and the dipping sauce choices go good with them.
Great Nashville fries and amazing Mac and cheese sandwiches all they need to practice on is customer service
Fries cold and dried out, order wrong (ordered no sauce, missing sides) and staff didn't want to fix. But chicken sandwich was very good and love the coleslaw on it.
