This is a Chinese-style restaurant. There are dishes with the taste of southern China, such as roast duck, Cantonese dishes, etc. various soups in Guangdong. In addition, there are also northern dishes, such as roast duck in Beijing. There are many kinds of dishes here, including grass and soup. All kinds of barbecue can be found in many places in the store at that time, and there are many private rooms that look very comfortable. In addition, the types of takeaways are also very rich. I often order takeaways here.
Sign clearly posted NO pet allowed except service dog. I ate there on Saturday, June 18,2022, there was one Caucasian male along with his Asian wife and two daughters bring in a medium size black color dog entered to dine. Management clearly not enforcing the NO pet allowed policy.
Duck is good. Tried wonton noodles- but the noodles had a strong ammonia smell to it. Looked it up online. Here is why: “Alkali water helps with the texture of the noodles, but there is one main issue with this type of noodle. If the water used to boil and cook the noodles isn't changed regularly it concentrates the alkali. This is where the ammonia smell comes from.”Dec 15, 2020 If this cafe can please change out the water after cooking/boiling the noodles- it will help. Thank you.
Service friendly, food prices add up, make sure to come with a group. Hella leftovers afterward. No desserts.Mall tofu = ❤️ we also got pineapple fried rice and duck. We ordered a side of rice and it was huge ?. Unfortunately afterwards, we decimated SpongeBobs house. The duck tasted like a beefy chicken. It was richer and heavier, but delicious.
The service was okay, the food was sub par. The thing I had a problem with was the fried milk, it was not hot at all just a bit warm on the outside and was chunky on the inside and cold. Also, they told us it was just fried. Ruined it with $108 for just 24.
The roast duck and sliced pork preserved egg porridge are the best, while Shi Qi Pigeon and the steamed egg are average. This is few restaurants you can find to offer an outdoor dining.Thank you HO KEE Cafe for providing the outdoor dining.
Not gonna lie--the food was pretty good. Now that that's out of the way, onto my complaints:1. Server said they had fresh (live, swimming) red grouper, but what they served was what I'm 95% sure was a red snapper (but at red grouper price, of course).2. Gai Lan was all stem, very bitter and fibrous. They took it back and replaced it with some choy sum that was on the saltier side.3. Their service was great until we paid for the meal, then it was all, "We need to turn this table around, so you need to leave."4. I paid for our meal and the server came back and took the itemized receipt out of my hands while I was reviewing it. I cannot emphasize how ABSOLUTELY SHADY this is. Whatever they're trying to hide (probably ended up charging us for the disgusting gai lan that they took back and the replacement vegetable dish), I hope it's worth the damage to their reputation.TL;DR pretty tasty food, but eating here left a bad taste in my mouth.
I came here for my club's meeting. We had a nice VIP room. The room wasn't big but decent size. I have to highlight a few dishes: BBQ Appetizer Platter, Crispy Chicken & Shrimp Paste with Sesame, and House Special Lobster. The BBQ Appetizer Platter's taste and the arrangement are much than than some of the older Chinese restaurant establishment. The Crispy Chicken & Shrimp Paste with Sesame is one of a kind, and this is a special dish and not many restaurants make this dish. It tastes good! Lastly, the House Special Lobster tastes really good too. Again, it surpasses some of the established Chinese restaurants. I highly recommend these three dishes. As far as price concern, let me just say they are not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Every time we come here we get the peking duck and it's always made to perfection. Perfectly crisp skin and juicy meat paired so well with the bao buns and condiments. It's not on their menu but I always ask for steamed Chinese broccoli and oyster sauce on the side as our vegetable item. Their service is also very friendly and although there's the language barrier I've never had any issues with my orders. Overall we always enjoy it when we come here.
One of the best places to go to for Zhong Kong style Wonton noodle soup and roast duck. Breakfast special is $10 and includes coffee with just Wonton noodle soup, stir fried vermicelli noodles plain, and coffee. You have other choices too. We normally order half a roast duck. It’s worth ordering half a duck vs a plate of it price wise. Plenty of parking. Wait time is slow. Coffee is bitter and not the best but they have other drinks too. Private rooms available for party of 12. A minimum must be ordered.
