I hope this place closes down. I was happy to take my daughter out for a well deserved lunch. From the moment my daughter and I walked in, the rude waitress told us to sit anywhere so we sat down just for her to tell us to move. We were confused. The restaurant wasn't busy, but it took the waitress a long time to get our order. As we waited over 30 minutes for our food people started coming in and still no food. How difficult is it to make one burrito? Even asking the waitress where our food was she told us off! I was embarrassed that I took my daughter there.
Waited over an hour for our food. Was never served. Props to our waitress for apologizing every 10 minutes. She was sweet. There was nothing she could do. Went around the corner to Pampa-rara and was served within 10 minutes. And Pampa's seafood is always excellent and well prepared.
If you want really good authentic Mexican food Chevos is the best Mexican restaurant in the high desert! Chevos is my family's go to restaurant, incredible bean and cheese burritos!! The entire menu is great!!! Worth going out of your way for.
Terrible service do not come here. The first time I came here I was seated and 15 mins later no one came to get our drink order. This is the second time I came here only because of a gift card and I was seated and ordered our drinks, 15 mins passed with no drinks from the time we ordered. I got up and left and as I was walking out I saw our waiter getting a cup of water for herself instead. I rather throw my gift card away than use it for this place. Horrible disgusting service. It was only 2 other tables in use as well so it was not busy at all.
Horrible Service @ this place. Went to Chevos around 7:50pm was told to sit anywhere, sat down7:53 was given menus waitress came over & asked what we wanted to drink gave our order 1 Orchata, 1 water. It was 8:11pm still waiting for our drinks & they haven't taken our food order. 3 waitresses/total of 3 tables w/customer, 2 getting food served, the other waiting on their food. Just sat and waited for our waitress to bring our drinks & take our order. So 8:12pm we got up & walked out saw our waitress she waved bye & my husband said to her "Did u forget about us"? As she was sipping on her drink. This was my 3rd visit hoping service would improve. Went to Tom's down the street & got food ate there & left @ 8:55pm, they had 3 tables w/customers & had great service. Chevos NEED TO HAVE BETTER SERVICE! ONLY WENT THERE BECAUSE I HAD A GIFT CERTIFICATE?
Ordered a burrito, which was fine. Also ordered 4tacos. But when I got home they were mini tacos. Spent $19 for that. Also, the wait in drive thru was unbelievably long. It was 50 minutes. Not going there again.
Went here and bought flautas and they were expensive and didn't have very much flavor. The guy in the drive thru was confused because he took my card and then gave it back (after paying) walked away from the window and came back like five minutes later asking me if I was there for a pickup. Kinda weird.
Excellent fare. The wait staff is always courteous and attentive. The food is consistently good and the space is clean. There are many fine Mexican restaurants, this one is among the finest.
My family has been going here for over 15 years there food is so addictive... People complain about the wait time, but for my family going out is a social event so waiting is not a thing for us. Going at the right time to beat or miss the lunch & dinner rush is key! They make food from scratch & right there on the spot! They hand roll the taquitos & flautas right then & there. Their Ranchera sauce can't be found anywhere else up here! Their Chile Relleno is so delicious! Wet burrito ? is the way to go, especially when it's the shrimp ? burrito ?! It's a family owned business and they have survived "The Big Lockdown of 2020' that should tell ya something! All the servers are nice & attentive. Some have been there for years, others are fairly new... But my family is loyal to Chevo's as our go to Mexican Restaurant! It's not Del Crappo nor is it Applebug's, so if you want fast, overly processed food, microwaved food, look elsewhere... This is homemade ? rich and hearty food! I think they need a Chevo's 2 in Hesperia close to the freeway !
