Poor service. Standoffish servers. Ok meal. Limited alcohol options. Fact that it was empty on a Saturday night should have said everything but we thought weâd give it a try because they have many options for food.
Great burgers, hip ambiance, slightly skimpy drinks, but unfortunately a very poor service night. Friendly, but clearly not organized or staffed to handle even a fairly light crowd. We saw potential customers wait to be seated, but then leave. Tasty and creative burgers, but will have to think twice before going back
Wish I could write something about the food. Walked out after waiting 25 minutes at the front counter for anyone to talk to me. Single person working the dining room couldn't be found for 5 to 10 minutes at a time. Multiple other tables walked out with no service. Consider this a delivery only place. Reviews show this has been a problem for months. Who is being paid to manage this place? Are you proud of the experience you're giving customers? Fix it soon or this place is going out of business.Hope I can write a better review sooner than later.Picture is 24 people in the dining room being ignored with 1 server.
I used to love this place! The truffle burger and truffle fries were my go to and absolutely delicious. They recently changed their menu, and it is absolutely disgusting. It is VERY limited. They removed healthy items such as salads, the truffle fries are no longer available, and the truffle burger has changed their fondue truffle cheese to a slice of the most disgusting truffle cheese I have ever had. The food tastes cheap and is no longer worth the prices they charge. It is nothing like the Umami I used to crave. I won't be craving this place anymore. Such a huge disappointment.
Update:Still no one in the front to greet customers. Takes minutes for staff to notice people waiting. Server walked away on us before we finished deciding what we wanted to drink - literally walked away without taking the third person's choice of drink. Changed my rating from 4 stars to 3 stars. Good food, although it appears the customer service is lacking.***Friendly staff. Although, sometimes it could take minutes to get noticed, even if the place is empty. Note- parking is limited, can be a challenge. Delicious food and nice atmosphere. Their cheesy potato tots are bomb ?
Good flavor but everything I saw online from past post are no longer served. No brussel sprouts, no drink menu, and only two appetizers. Flavor was good though.
Not ideal and short staff
I had high expectations for this place. Consistently good reviews, lots of hype, and a menu that looked promising. Unfortunately, by the time we visited the menu was very basic and the burgers didn't really seem to have any sort of difference in flavor, even though one had black garlic sauce on it. It didn't even have the hint of garlic or anything resembling garlic flavor. It tasted exactly like the other burgers on the table. The fries were good, but the truffle ketchup tasted like ketchup straight out of the squeeze bottle. No hint of truffle in there at all. I understand supply issues have caused restaurants to limit their menus and I don't hold that against them, but when all the burgers taste exactly the same, regardless of toppings, it's not really worth the money we paid. The hand pie dessert tasted okay, but was ridiculously underfilled for the price paid. Hopefully if I am ever near an Umami Burger again, I can give them another try and it will wow me like I had hoped this one would. The service was really good. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was average, but has potential to be much better with a return to more normal food supplies. Price was high for the quality of the food we received. Would have appreciated some salad options or maybe a chicken burger option.
New menu is not good. Truffle burger is not as good as it was before. It was very dry. The truffle fries also were not as good as it was before.
It's a different atmosphere from La Umami. I think Umami is the best of many hamburgers :) The staff was kind and fantastic. I ordered umami burgers, truffle burgers and truffle fries.
