clean Cafe, super friendly staff, reasonable price , yummy and fresh south Indian food. highly recommended.

I went there few weeks ago , the food was good, delicious, ordered my favorite dish Vegetable Navratan kurma G , the place was clean, MOST of all my server Cophilly gets the 5 stars from me. She is awesome, she is so knowledgeable, respectful, fast and kind to customers. she treat you like she wanted to be treated , I sure enjoy eating there when she swerves me. she deserve a good pay.

Good South Indian food but a bit pricey

I went to Saivam Cafe during a trip to LA and I have to admit, this restaurant is one of the few places which really makes me miss my hometown Chennai. I ordered the Chinese Combo, which had just the right amount of spice in it. I had also ordered the Chennai street side chat and the kothu parotta, which are both must-tries if you ever visit. The service was very kind, and although it took some time for the food to come, the taste was totally worth it. Will definitely recommend to my friends and family in Los Angeles.

Went today here with my family . Below average food, We are okay with homestyle like food , But very poor taste cannot be home like food . Battura had too much oil that we did not even finish it . Naan comes with rice and curries and Raita was not provided . Curries except paneer nothing tasted good. Only relief was the Gobi Manchurian. Management should hire more workers that way one person handles counter and other one comes and check on people . One lady handling everything is very hard on her. Will not recommend to anyone

I wish they had more restaurants like Saivam!!Love their special hibiscus teA ?.Their Chennai beach sundal is our all time fav! Both their plantain and chilli bajji is yummy! Their pooris are soft and appears healthy without oil dripping from them.

La comida estuvo deliciosa, y el lugar muy limpio!!!

The cleanest and most delicious Indian food I've found. Any time we find a friend or relative that hasn't eaten here, we bring them and they always love it. Spring roll dosa and Manchurian Gobi (great as an appetizer to share) are my two go to items although literally every plate I've tried has been immaculate.

Ordered Poori w Aloo curry and korma, Onion Pakoda (fritters), Gulab Jamun. Food was a disappointment. They gave me Bhatura (made of all purpose flour) instead of poori (made of whole wheat flour and is smaller in size). Definitely not what i intended to eat. Gulab jamun was worst, it was very hard, stale. Onion Pakoras were good. I will still give them a try for other items in future and update the review if need be.I loved that they are eco friendly and packed most of the food in compostable containers except for the sauces which came in plastic bowls.

Flavors were great but a few technical challenges. I don’t think they fermented the rice for the idli long enough, because it fell apart too easily. The accompanying sambar was excellent, but the tomato and coconut chutneys, though flavorful and delicious, had no chili in them at all, which I’ve never experienced in South India. I’m guessing they really tame down the heat for American palates? The lassi was outstanding - surprisingly rich and thick. The pav bhaji was a bit of a letdown though - again, really mild flavors.
