This is some of the best Indian food I’ve had in Orange County. The naan is baked to order and the food is always absolutely amazing. The chicken is high quality and is cleaned well and have never gotten any strange chewy bits like some other Indian restaurants I’ve had. The Chana masala or the mushroom masala are great veg choices. The samosas are also amazing they’re crunchy but not too crunchy where it just starts falling apart. The staff there are always friendly and will get you your order as fast as possible.
UPDATE 2022: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It’s been a few years since my last review so I thought I’d write an updated one. This is still our consistent go to Indian Restaurant as a family. Recently we’ve tried to test out a few different places that are local and we still find ourselves coming back here. Sometimes the next day because our other meal just didn’t hit the spot or simply was that unsatisfactory. I took a bunch of pictures of the interior while we waited for our food to be freshly made. Unfortunately once we got our food we devoured it and I forgot to take any photos. Our favorites are the chicken vindaloo, chicken makhani, Ali gobi, saag (chicken or paneer), and samosas…to name a few. Ask for spicy if you like spicy. Lastly, the naan is perfection here. Service is always great. Food is fantastic. 2019 REVIEW: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is one of our family’s favorite Indian Restaurants. My siblings and I LOVE Indian food, but mom’s not a fan of anything with lamb or cumin. Normally if we get food remotely close in flavor she can’t it. Yet here, not only does she eat but she enjoys the food! Indian food can get pricy outside of lunch time buffets, but the prices here are reasonable.
Won’t recommend to anyone because of the following1) very less quantity2) poor tasteI ordered a mutter paneer, a veg biryani and garlic naan, quantity of mutter paneer was just a small cup, veg biryani was Not a biryani but a vegetable Pulao. Garlic naan was just like a normal naan and was not that soft.Overall a bad experience.
Suuuuuper good food! Me and my fiance did lunch here and we're not disappointed. We were very impressed in fact with the freshness of the food and the very kind and generous service. This place is run well and has the best tasting Indian food I've ever had! And I got rice pudding as a complimentary dessert! But the curry was the best! So glad we found this place.
The best Indian food at the best prices. I've been coming here for years and it never fails to disappoint, and no other Indian restaurant in the area compares to Punjabi. I've tried everything here but my go-to is always a combination meal with lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. Their naan is to die for, its chewy with the perfect amount of char. I've noticed that sometimes if they are too busy they might over cook the naan and the whole things becomes crispy instead. The combinations also come with a small dessert. The portions are very reasonable for the price.
Food was great! Just dont like disposable plate and spoon while dining in. Price are resonable. Good customer service.
Of all the Indian food places i've tried this is probably my favorite of them all. That being said, sometimes the food can be inconsistent, sometimes its very rich and has lots of flavor, other times it tastes the same but sort of watered down, where the sauce isn't as rich or as dark. Still I like this place a lot and I always order the same thing. Usually tikka masala, chicken makhani, with plain naan , I don't like the garlic naan as much. Also the desserts are disappointing because the portions are extremely tiny. Otherwise good food
This is the kind of place I love giving my business to. I forgot my wallet and only realized when checking out. Immediately the lady helping me said “oh it’s okay you can just take it, pay us back next time.” I then realized I could use Apple Pay but either way, people like this and businesses like this are so needed in today’s world. Will be back.
Fantastic authentic Indian food! We visited (after hearing glowing reviews) near the end of our trip to the states as we were missing Indian food! Punjabi Tandoor did not disappoint, will be recommending to our friends who plan to visit Los Angeles?
FRESH CHICKEN! All food is rich in flavor, we all described it as a flavorful experience. Sauces were creamy and herby where they needed to be. The naan bread was great and did NOT have too much oil on it, really was just right. The restaurant seating arrangements were comfortable. It's bigger inside than it really looks. It was cool to be quickly shot into some cultural experience with the decorations there. FUN FACT: Chicken tikki massala is the national food of England. The menu could use some description for people that haven't had this food before, I didn't know what much of it was besides CTM. Overall 5/5 stars, will be returning again as they do have a lunch special and its down the street from our office!
