This place doesn't have the best atmosphere and is small but..the food and the mead are a win win. They have opened up a back patio which is great. Service always quick and friendly. They no longer have my favorite pulled pork nachos but made up for it with the pizzas and the chicken tendys. There phantom sauce was delicious. Also missed the gummy mix in with the mead but the kiwi seltzer was a good stand in. So even with my negative comments I give this place 5 stars and will always choose them over some of the other higher profile places in the area
This place has blossomed into the best local kept secret. They have inventive beers and a cool vibe. The best new addition is food! They have an every changing menu to keep it exciting. They even make their own root beer from time to time.
For about a year now, I've been coming to this brewery which was highly recommended by a friend. She has been coming for years.I never had an issue and have always recommended this place to friends. It's always been amazing service. However! On two recent different occasions I've had a bad experience with a few of their staff members and the service. In the first occasion the staff was constantly hovering us and making snarky remarks as we were just trying to hang out. They forgot to get my second drink until i reminded them i had one. AND i ordered a pizza, which took nearly an hour to get to us. After 30 minutes of waiting, my friend went to ask about it and "it got lost in the system" i figured ehh. It happens. But On the second occasion my friend ordered mushrooms and cheese fries along with a mead. It was her first time here and in a few minutes they brought out the mushrooms. I went back to talk to the staff and they forgot the cheese fries. When I asked my friend where her drink was, she said they never gave it to her. So she went back to ask for it. For one order we had to constantly check in on THEM for it. Which was very annoying. Later that night the staff began to give us attitude. My friend was upset with the service and the staff began to argue with her then told all of us to leave. It was 9:50. They close at 11. We spent a lot of money that night on a lot of food and beers so I'm really angry about the situation. The staff has definitely been worse with time.We sat outside on both occasions to prevent this kind of behavior but the staffs only consistency was watching us and making snarky remarks.
I've been a patron at phantom ales for about 4 years now, I love their food and drinks. Frequently, I bring large groups of people for all occasions we meet for. Throughout the years I've seen the rotation of staff coming and going. Unfortunately the past 2 times I've gone, their new employee Trent has been the worst employee they've hired. He's rude, unwelcoming, creepy and hostile. The first occasion, throughout the evening he would stare and hover over the party of women I was with. He'd make it a point to stand by our group and peer over us, smoke and make comments with some other person. The second occasion, he did the same throughout the whole evening. Except this time he kicked us out and shoved one of the girls with us in passing.I hope the owner sees this and gets this guy out of the establishment. It's costing their business money and patronage.
Loved the spicy chicken sandwich. I wish I had more time to try different varieties of beer. I got The Wookiee and it was great! A very unique flavor. (Pecan coffee brown ale.) And this wasn't even the one with all the ribbons! ??
Everything is great. Pizza especially. Beers are extensive.
My first time going to this bar and I loved it. Shawn (John?) was very helpful and courteous and helped me find out exactly the type of beer I wanted to have. I’d definitely go back with my friends. The food was delicious too!. My favorite beer by them is the Juice Jockey. I recommend it.
They have wide array of beer selection, I particularly like hazy and they good ones! Also, they have mead on site since the family owns a winery up in Napa which makes the drink selection very diverse!
Great experience and great service! Free taster on Tuesday! We had Phantom fries and chicken tenders. Almost everything is made in house and really good. Our bartender was really helpful choosing beers.
Phantom ales is the place for MEAD! For a Friday it wasn't over crowded it was busy but not too bad. The food is always on point there. I got a Mac n cheese burger and fries, and my wife got the chicken fingers and we shared an order of Phantom fries. As far as beer I always go for the dark beers the one I had was Unholy Roast it was a beer that was made with Kona Coffee. It was good but I ended the night with a cranberry pomegranate mead! This drink is 13%ABV but it is so delicious. I see why it is a staple at Phantom Ales. All in all I would tell everyone to go here, and I will go back again.
