After living right down the street from this place for a few months me and roomies finally tried it and I wish we would have come sooner. Excellent food. A bit pricy but the the portions are huge so it is well worth it. It was so hard to pick off their extensive menu but we decided on combo egg fu young, mapo tofu, black bean noodles, house fried rice and garlic shrimp. All so good. But more than the food, the hottest made us feel right at home. She really made the meal feel special for us. We are definitely going to go back because there is so much more food to try.
A hidden gem in OC!Even though their plating is not fancy and kind of old style, (which is why I gave only 4 stars) but if you're looking for some home-style Korean-Chinese food, this place could be a good fit.The taste is really clean and good. Instead of using white bleached flour, their noodle is handmade and made of black bean powder. They don't seem to add MSG, either. The most important thing is the owner chef is cooking, not employees. During pandemic, I've seen a lot of good restaurants ended up hiring trainee level employees, let them cook without any main chef because of the skyrocketing labor cost and grocery market price, which mostly lead to quality deterioration. If you prefer greasy, sweet or strong taste, this place might not be the right one for you, though.
This place is the "Bomb"Authentic food, ever so gracious host. Family style. $12 for a dish but it feeds four to five. I highly recommend anything that is fried. The basic Chinese food that you order for your children is on the menu, don't get me wrong, but try something new.....They have changed the architecture from the old Chicken Pot Pie Shop.Updated facade and I love the color of the paneling and placements of tables. You feel like your party is in its own world.
Wonderful food!! Owners/Managers are delightful, friendly, and accommodating. Outside dining for 4-6 people available. Very humble and would not accept my tip. Love this (newly discovered) quaint mini-cafe.
Rude staff. Waited from 6:30 to 7:27 and our food wasn’t even getting cooked yet. When asked, answer was first “I don’t know.” What two of the waitresses also said was: “everybody is waiting” (so this makes it right to have customers to wait for an hour?); and “today is Christmas Eve so we are too busy”- no you are not, only 5 tables of customers and every one is waiting; during an hour only 2 pick up orders. The younger waitress didn’t care about that fact so when we left she did even say sorry for wasting an hour of ours. Half of the menu is not available, and the price is before the price increase. Was told it’s a “thirty year old menu”. I am surprised this restaurant is still in business if this is always the way it treats customers.
The BEST chinese food I've ever had. You can really taste that it's homemade. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Very nice waitstaff. Good service. Had sweet and sour pork. It was rather bland. Decent portions. Just thought I'd check it out while in town. Meh.
The food here is soooo good! The portions are pretty decent and the prices are reasonable. We usually order extra food so we have leftovers the next day. Everything we have tried here has been pretty tasty so far.
The spicy noodle soup and vermicelli noodle soup were delicious ? I totally recommend it
AMAZING! After a day playing at the nearby amusement parks, this place hit the spot. The family-style servings were great so we could try multiple differents foods. As an added bonus, the staff was amazingly nice and welcoming. My son (14mo old) was so happy when they'd come 'entertain' him. Thank you! ?
