Thank you for an AWESOME dining experience! We were looking to enjoy some Indian food and we felt like we hit the jackpot with this place. It was a quick walk from the Hilton and worth every step. The service was top notch and our waiter took extra time to tell us about the various things we ordered. The food was delicious and the portions were great for sharing. The naan was perfect and we especially enjoyed the pickled veggies. Next time we visit Anaheim we will certainly visit this gem!
This is our second visit to Gateway to India. Both times food has been delicious and the service has been top notch. On our first visit we shared a chicken Tikka Masala and a chicken biryani rice dish with naan and samosas as starters. On this visit we reprised the samosas and chicken Tikka Masala, adding a coconut chicken curry. The kitchen will ask if you would like mild, medium, or hot on the spice level. The flavors definitely hit the mark for what the dishes we gravitate towards and bring so many memories of travel we have made. The family that runs Gateway to India are so gracious. It has been a pleasure to dine with them each time. The word at the table: "Got the postie? Good, cos now we're going to wreck it!"As a note: please be aware the dining section closes 30 minutes prior to business close time. They will allow order for take out (whether you order on site or call in your order) up to 30 minutes prior to closing.
We loved eating here!I got the tikka masala and my husband got a coconut curry based on the manager’s recommendation! We also got normal basmati rice and garlic naan. All the dishes were amazing, fresh, and hot!Since everything is made to order, it can take a bit longer than quick service restaurants. Despite this, we didn’t have to wait long.Would eat here again for sure!!
Great food! Nice place. Friendly service. Stopped here after doing Disneyland all day and I'm so glad we did. Best tasting Indian food I've had in a long time. I had the lamb biriyani and my partner had the mixed tandoori grill. Both were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Dessert was a pistachio ice cream, not too sweet and full of flavor.
Fantastic food and service! I got the coconut curry chicken, and my wife got the tikka masala. We shared basmati rice and garlic naan as well. The food was absolutely delicious and for the life of me I can’t understand how this place only has four stars. Highly recommend!
Best Indian food I've ever had! The only way I can comprehend how anyone had given this place a 1 star is the chef was having a bad night. But let me tell you, I'm from San Jose and we have an abundance of Indian restaurants... this is the BEST!! Food was fresh the flavors were complex but subtle at the same time. Very impressive. A must try gem!
The food was amazing but honestly the service couldn’t have been better. The owners were incredibly nice and helped us with the right meals. My friends in India have suggested dishes and we finally got to try them here and it’s up there on the best food we’ve eaten. We are mad we didn’t find this restaurant the first night, it’s right behind our hotel room. We’ll be back for lunch
It was our first time eating at this establishment. The service was just wonderful. I'm not sure if our servers were the owners, but they definitely showed such pride being there and wanting to be so helpful and accommodating. It was my fiancé's first time eating Indian food and he absolutely loved it! We cant wait to return. I hope the owners of this restaurant read this review and know how much we appreciated being there and how much we truly enjoyed their food. Thank you kindly!!!
Excellent food and service! Food cooked fresh and very tasty. Best Indian food I ever had. Highly recommend.
The buffet was average, nothing too authentic. Tandoori chicken was cooked too dry. Dessert was good. The owner and wife need to learn customer service, they caused an embarrassing atmosphere to a couple for some food related questions. C'mon dude you will lose potential customers with this attitude of yours.
