Playfully crafted, fun cocktails that pair well with their food, which happens to be a hidden gem of Alameda. Courteous service that isn't obtrusive nor absent, i haven't dined with Spinning Bones since before the pandemic hit. Our go-tos are the Trip's Triple, which gives you a trio assortment of moist, flavorfully cooked animal proteins with two piquant sauces (chimichurri or jalapeño Garum) and a side of tossed greens: the fried chicken sando (their mochiko chicken is so addictive): and their corn fritters, which are more like hush puppies than the Thai/Asian style corn fritters with loads of corn kernels and less batter, which come with a delightful house Made strawberry jam. The chicken lickin' appetizer is also a winner, with it's side of house-seasoned Kewpie aioli. I recently had the Mi-Loc shochu cocktail, which was just the right balance of fun fruity flavors and alcohol, served in an adorable Maneki Neko 'Money Cat' tiki mug, but more than one and you gotta stick your pinky out! Their outdoor seating doesn't have heaters, so dress warmly/bring a blanket!
Returned here for the 2nd year to celebrate my birthday. Food was spot on fantastic, fresh, delicious, & perfectly prepared. However, we found some aspects disappointing this year.1st, $17.00 for a cold appetizer made of 2 oz ball of fresh cheese, 1/4 of a peach, & some arugula is highway robbery! A seasoned server would have listed the prices of the daily specials along with the descriptions; but it's on us for not thinking to ask! Nearly fell outta my chair when I saw that on the bill!!?? Lesson learned! Do yourself the favor of saving your $$ & skipping this item!2nd, While their kitchen used to be far more flexible with dietary-driven changes & substitutions, this time was far harder to get the same. Only when realizing the potential loss of a $40 sale did they find a way to change out a veggie option for a different veggie option! I mean... really?!?! I know supplies are tight, but is it REALLY all that hard to sub out broccalinni for arugula?!?!??? Anyway...And 3rd, while here for a past birthday dinner and offered a complimentary dessert item of choice, no such offer was mentioned this time. True, they were sold out of the best dessert item they have (banana pudding❣❣), but they could have offered another item instead. This IS why we go out to celebrate special occasions, for the moments of "making a big deal" outta events; ESPECIALLY when we've been unable to do so with big groups for now the *3rd* year running! And for an $80.00 meal you'd think a birthday dessert would be a given! Oh well....We'll probably go back eventually because we like the food. But it'll be a while again before we do, because the disappointment for the cost isn't the value we need.

I was pleasantly surprised - admittedly I did not research the menu. Based on the name I assumed it was a BBQ spot - I was very happy to find out it was fusion! I definitely recommend this spot. The food was very tasty and the service was fun and efficient.
The corn was amazing! Everything else wasnât great, the meat and ribs were served a bit cold, took a very long time and the flavor wasnât quite there. Ambiance was cute, great structure.
On the south end of Park St in Alameda, this funky BBQ joint is good enough for me because of the ice cold Sapporo draft on tap. There is an Izakaya element to the menu, their Chicken Lickinâ tots is the best Japanese style yardbird karaage Iâve had in a awhile. Enough to share for two, the marination is evident and pairs well with the Japanese style potato salad. Their burger is also very juicy and seasoned, no extra sauces necessary. Next time with an entourage, will definitely try their chicken and pork BBQ which looked incredibly appetizing slowly grilling on the rotisserie behind the counter. Service by dude named Tod was pretty cool but dining solo, would have preferred a young gal in a maidâs outfitâ¦â¦â¦
Delicious fresh food with wonderful flavors. Great service and so pleasant.
Good food. Good service. 2 out of the 3 entrees we ordered were good.
Lunch First time going and had the beet salad added chicken. Was very good. Had the chicken appetizer also tasty. Prices seemed pricey for entrees.
3 of us all enjoyed the chicken salad and the corn fritters; they have a great selection of food and a pretty good selection of beer and wine
