We don't live in Alameda anymore but I have to make sure I stop by McGee's whenever I am in town. I grew up coming to this bar and I'm always guaranteed to run into old friends. Alcohol is not my thing so I just pig out on all the yummy bar food and they always have fresh coffee made. Everyone that works here is always so nice and the service is top notch, super friendly, exactly what you would expect from a Hometown staple. ❤️
I'm glad they survived the pandemic! Always a great place to catch a Warrior Game.They have a good drink selection and happy hour specials. I love the new menu and the specials are always changing. If you go there on the right night, try the French Dip Sandwich. The also have a Pastrami sandwich special that's also good. The fries and chicken strips are always excellent. They're fresh, not frozen.
This is a fun place to watch sports or just get a drink. The bartenders are great and the owners make you feel welcome. This is the Cheers of Alameda.

Bartender was rude and treated me poorly the minute I walked. They charge me 'service fee' in addition to the price of the drink!!!

Went there for fried zucchini with a dear friend. Ordered Margaritas from the bar, great friendly staff and yummy food and drinks. Plus outdoor space was nice too
One of the best ‘Bar and Grills’ on the West Coast. If they have Pollo de Mamasita (little mama’s chicken), you should try it. Do not forget tortillas. Oh and extra jalapeños.
