Staff was rude. Asked them how they were doing, thanked them for the food, not a single acknowledgement.Steak burrito was okay. Enchiladas and hard shell tacos weren’t that good at all. Not recommended if you want authentic Mexican food.
Great food and relaxed atmosphere. The taco salad and combo plates are the best. Huge portions.
I love the food at this place! Very tasty! Never disappoints. They're fast and my orders are always correct. Street parking can be difficult at times.
The food is really good but the prices have risen to unreasonable levels. I'm not paying $18 for a super burrito. I tried to hang in with them but when they went from $16 to $18, I had to move on. There are just too many alternatives.

I love this place. My favorite on Alameda's east end, competing with at least 4 other purveyors of Mexican food.At least one of the cooks has been there for 20 years. They know their stuff.I'm watching my weight, and the portions are generally too big for a sane person to finish (this is standard in California taquerias). Island Taqueria's crispy taco has a lot of vegetables, is big but not too big, reasonably priced, and exactly right no matter what meat you put in it.
I've been coming to Island Taqueria for years. I recommend their carne asada super burrito. Their chips and salsa are fine but never the reason I come here. On weeknights, they're as busy Los Pericos and are open later than Ramiro and Sons. They're the sweet spot on Park St. should you need to make a detour for a good burrito.
I didn’t get food but they were so nice about letting me use the bathroom and the bathroom/whole place was extremely clean and pleasant
Hands down best Mexican food on the island. Tried almost every Mexican restaurant in Alameda and this is the best, by far (based on al pastor / marinated pork burritos).Definitely recommend for quick and delicious food.
Food was excellent! The service was fast and friendly! We will be back!
