The best Chinese Food in Alameda! They have the best BBQ Pork Fried Rice out of every Chinese Food restaurant! Every dish that I get from Gim's Chinese Kitchen tastes awesome! Highly recommend!
Absolutely outraged. This place once. served good food. The fried shrimp were atrocious. $42 for shrimp fried rice, chicken chow mien and fried shrimp. I have never been so angry and felt ripped off and duped! Never again. The shrimp was jerky, dried and scribbled. I still don't understand what was $42. I'd rather buy buffet Chinese from Safeway for great value and decent food. I called the restaurant,
Prices not as posted online. Be warned. Add an extra 4-5$ to each item. I went there twice desperately hoping the first meal was an off night. As a vegetarian the veggies are the star of the dish. Unfortunately a mixed vegetable dish means bell pepper and onion here. Or as in the Egg Foo Youngs case, only onion. For a plate of onion and egg at 15 bucks, hard pass. One dish of desperation had broccoli. Those dreams were crushed by being overcooked as well. I give. Just was looking for basic Chinese with vegetables at a reasonable price. This is not it. The woman at the counter is quite friendly though. Too bad friendly does not fulfill hunger.
Very little meat in the Mongolian beef. Salt and pepper prawns weren't cooked enough, batter was still mealy.
Been ordering takeout since I was a teenager. Since moving to Oregon I still comeback and visit my mom. And when I do I stop at Gims. Prices have increased but food is very good. No complaints. My favorites are the BBQ PORK FRIED RICE, HAM EGG FOO YOUNG, AND TOMATOE BEEF CHOW MEIN. BUT ITS ALL DELICIOUS. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.
It's great take out , you need fast dinner plans... Family meals all set up .
Gim’s is fantastic; everything tastes home-cooked and flavorful. The pot-stickers and the Mongolian beef are especially good. If you’re looking for great Chinese food for a good price, eat here.
