This is my neighborhood sushi joint - delivery is very quick and the service is excellent. Both sushi and Thai food are delicious.
Now this is a remarkable place that combines the best of Japanese and Thai food. It may not look like much and people might want to call it a “hole in the wall” but they do deliver the goods. It may even be one of Alameda’s best kept secrets. The lemon curry chicken paired with Sapporo easily hit the spot. The wine selection could be better but you can always bring your own (for a corkage fee).As Arnie would say “I’ll (definitely) be back.”
Great food! I've come twice now and will definitely be back for more since it's really close to a friend's place. Outdoor seating is great and take away has been a breeze. I love the thai food!
Today, my families and I went to bluefin sushi and Thai for lunch, we were very exciting at first. The outdoor dining was very comfortable and clean. We order top roll, lion king roll, beef teriyaki bento box, beef Udon, everything was great at first, the food looks delicious, we ate a few sushi until we found a hair!!!!! in the beef teriyaki bento box which is very very disgusting, it was under the beef inside the vegetable. The hair is about four inch long, it was black. And I went in to call the waiter. when she came out, she saw the hair, at first she look at my mother and thinks that the hair inside was hers. There is no way that the hair was her because it was black, my mom's hair was brown. and we felt very disappointing and angry. And we have have seen some comments before going to eat, I saw how someone commented that there was hair in the sushi roll, we thought that was an accident. Unluckily, it has happen to us. We thought that it was a one time accident thing. Now I really don't trust this restaurant, and I will never never never come back again!!!!!!!!!
The place honestly surprised us. Thai food is legit and japanese food is serviceable to good. And miso soup hits your table as you sit down. The bento price is typical, but the food and options you get makes it worth ordering it.
The sushi rolls were alright, some of the thinnest sliced Nigiri I have had.
This is tragic. We have probably ordered food here around 15 or 20 times in the last year. Bluefin used to be the best quality sushi in Alameda, and frankly just delicious all around. These days, the quality has slipped so far that it's not even worth it anymore. Inconsistent sweetness in the rice, rolls sliced in random thicknesses, one roll stuff with fish, the next basically only rice, rolls that fall apart when you pick them up. On top of that, you have to order without pickled ginger because the rolls will soak up the juice and you have to repack your order because they put cold sushi on top of hot food in the bag (nobody wants hot sushi).I am wondering if the owner changed or something, but it's simply not what it was even last year.
Best go to or order out Thai in Alameda! Very under rated in my eyes or taste palette. Crab fried rice probably the best fried rice or food period. I work in hospitality and I’m used to fine dinning, but I crave crab fried rice all the time, Bluefin’s version.
Neighborhood restaurant to cross the street to eat dinner. The beef salad is my all time favorite but I have to ask them tone down the pepper flakes. The new chef (new owners' one) dumped flakes in. He was more than accommodating in keeping the dressing the seasoning rather than it being about about pepper flakes.
This place was very small with a little parking lot and some heat lamps. Though it was too cold, heat lamps or not. The soup was tasty and the edamame was good but I think their rolls were lacking. Nothing too extravagant but a good place to get your quick sushi fix!
