I’m just so incredibly picky when it comes to breakfast sandwiches that I don’t order them. I really needed something savory this morning so I decided to try the the breakfast panini with ham & spinach. All things I would never order. It’s my favorite sandwich I’ve had. The coffee is delicious & the scones are fresh. I usually buy extra to share with others.
I ordered the Mayan Mocha. It sensory profile was overwhelmed with cinnamon and other spices, it almost seemed as if cayane was added. I tossed part of the drink out and added half and half. I couldn't salvage the drink. I also tried the White Mocha, the flavor was sweet, smooth, foamy. I wouldn't immediately discard this place but I wouldn't recommend the Mayan Mocha.
My first time at Beanery of Alameda. Enjoyed a ham and cheese croissant with a caramel frappe! The food was beyond delicious and the frappe was so smooth?? Last but definitely not least, kuddos to the hospitality. It was so warm and inviting. I can’t wait to visit again all the way from FL.

The coffee is ok. I left 3 stars out of fairness because the caramel latte was pretty good compared to most local chain coffee spots. The bagel should not be called by that name. It's more like a boiled version of dense French bread.Respecting that I went in on a holiday morning, there's an expected amount of business rush I was planning to deal with. No issues there. After having waited 20min for 2 cups of coffee, and ending up with a burned bagel, hardly any cream cheese present at all, and the wrong flavor as well... It left me wondering if the reviews are mostly from immediate locals that live within a couple blocks from the place...? I can't imagine driving any distance and finding satisfaction here. Great spot for people with lots of time that live nearby.Edit- I'll be returning today to give the Beanery another try, since you graciously offered to make up for the last experience.*2nd visit review*Excellent customer service, and appreciate the attempt to correct the issues I experienced on my previous visit.
Love the food and the coffee is OK but I found some staples in my salad as I was eating it. Sad but I won't be having lunch here anymore
For a coffee shop inside a grocery store I encountered exceptional customer service. The employees were all friendly and kind enough to take my admittedly overly complicated order with a great attitude. They even gave me a complimentary iced coffee to go with my large order when checking out. I would absolutely return to this place. Five star experience.
One of the best coffe places in Alameda. The coffee is roasted on the premises. Also features a very good selection of pastries and made on the premises sandwiches. Try the Mediterranean sampler featuring house made hummus. Big enough to share.
