The food was definitely Mediterranean. It was good tasting, the presentation was good. And the prices are reasonable. I truly like the salads and the bread. The meat made with turkey seasoning was excellent

Flavorful Mediterranean food. Good variety for vegetarians in appetizers. There were only a few vegetarian entrees. We ordered Fainted Imam, an eggplant dish. While the preparation was exquisite, I felt that the taste was lacking compared with the other dishes we ordered as appetizers. A good dining experience overall.

I have tried probably everything on their menu. The beet salad so good. Hummus, lamb burger, some kind of rice pudding desert, Turkish coffee… EVERYTHING I’ve had has been so good. Reasonable portions and prices. Friendly staff. Nice ambiance. Haven’t tried the back dining area. Mostly street parking, but I live nearby so I just walk there. One of my fav places.

Three of us shared 3 appetizers, 3 main courses and three desserts. All of us thought each bite was delicious. We would have been happy with just the dinner but decided to have dessert. Verdict? The baklava was the best I have ever tasted--and I have eaten a lot of baklava from NY to CA. And then there was the poached quince with a honey nut sauce and a lovely pudding as well. Ala also has a lovely patio in addition to a well spaced dining room and takeout. Don't miss this one.

The quince dessert is A MUST TRY, it was amazing and really good for hot summer nights."Ayva tatlısı is a dessert from Turkish cuisine that is made with quince. The quince is cooked by boiling in water or in the oven with cloves, sweet syrup and filled with apple or quince meal, and raisins and topped with kaymak"- wiki

This is the BEST Mediterranean food in Alameda! For a late night dinner we had two appetizers, eggplant with pita and the other a kind of zucchini pancake with Tsatsiki combined with our entry lamb kabob was absolutely delectable! The ambiance was stylish and our host the owner of the restaurant was extremely hospitable. My fiance and I felt like we traveled to Turkey with speciality cuisine. It's now our favorite restaurant in Alameda.

We had such an amazing time at ALA Mediterranean Grill. We were sitting at their outdoor patio it was super cozy space. Kids had wonderful time. Food and service was amazing!! Highly recommend it!!

Had an amazing and flavorsome time at ALA! Had two yummy starters the Cigar Borek which was crispy phyllo dough filled with cheese and came with a refreshing herb dip and the Mucver which was Zucchini carrot and scallions patty’s served with a Greek dill yogurt which complimented the starter. For the entree had the Lamb Kabob which was delicious it had the best rice I had in a long time, the lamb was perfectly cooked and the pita was delicious. For desserts my table tried all three. Baklava which was crispy, sweet and delicious, Revani which was a delicious moist cake with cream on the side and Sutlac which was my favorite, a rice puddling with cinnamon and roasted hazelnuts, that I feel I could eat for breakfast it was so good. The servers were so amazing and helpful and made it an wonderful experience I won’t forget soon.

Outstanding quality and a fun neighborhood place for Mediterranean food. Try the Turkish wine and coffee, the lamb, and rice pudding. Dare I say a Turkish Delight?

Last night we had the chance to try out boutique style restaurant that opened recent year. I like to try different Turkish restaurants in different cities so we were eager to go there. First of all, this restaurant having been completely renovated, this turned into a beautiful cozy setting for warm get-togethers.Second, food is hands down best food I’ve had in a while. Delicious Greek salads, mezzes (small shared portions) -especially hummus- and chicken kebab literally melting in your mouth are absolutely amazing.I know the owners being local Alameda for over a decade and handcrafting the food, adds to the excellence of the food experience. Must go!
