My family was one of 3 tables in the entire restaurant, it still took around 35 minutes to get out food after ordering. I’ve been here before (during covid) and the wait was way shorter the previous visit. Main reason I decided to write a review though was my fettuccine being almost inedible. I can tell whoever cooked my food just let the fettuccine hang off the side of the pot and the ends of the noodles got burnt. They then decided to just use the burnt noodles, so I had a crunchy hard surprise when I tried biting into them. I got the fettuccine last time I came and it was way better so I know they have the potential to make good fettuccine alfredo, they’re just seriously lacking consistency.
The food was good… however for having to wait at least 45 mins when food was brought out it was only warm not hot… but still very good… the server was very nice. The hostess however not so much. It was my son and I she sat us at a table that she had chosen for us… while we sat there I saw her talking to waiters about whether they could get around our table if someone was sitting at a table beside us. They even came and saw if they could… then the hostess eventually came to our table and ask my son if he could move so waitress could get to the table ….from that point on it was a VERY uncomfortable dinner. Felt like we were in the way…. NOT a good feeling… for that reason we will not be returning …
5/10/2022 Very disappointing experience! Phoned in to go order at 6:53 pm from Siloam Springs, arrived approximately 20 minutes later and told our order was not ready. Ordered small portion of lasagna and small portion of the ravioli with spaghetti with meat sauce. After waiting a while, we were told that additional pasta was being cooked. Food received after a 30 minute wait with barely an apology (“sorry for the wait”).Once home (Rogers) to eat, the lasagna was greasy and resulted in significant stomach upset. The ravioli was only fair, meat sauce good but there was no spaghetti! Salad consisted of only iceberg lettuce (told there would be cheese) and dressing, and there were 2 (store bought) Parker House type rolls. All for a total of $32.15 (with tip). And one other thing - after all these years of success, what’s up with the lousy bathroom facilities - still outside, across the parking lot? And on this visit, it was dirty and the floors were completely wet!Been here several times in the past and always pleased. Won’t be returning!
I can't believe this, but my favorite restaurant for twenty decades has become a place I will never visit again. I noticed my last visit that the chicken in the chicken parmigiana was no longer lightly breaded but crispy with not much cheese anymore. Same thing happened this time. We were offered no refills. My daughter ordered a large fettucini alfredo, and we asked if it were truly a large, and the server said yes, but we know what plate a large comes in, and that wasn't it. We were offered two cold rolls after dinner was brought. It has always been 3-4. When I asked rolls to take with me, the server brought one. Yes, one. When I said this was very unusual, the server said, "This isn't Olive Garden." Everyone knows the rolls have always been a big part of Venesian Inn service. And so when I asked about the chicken, the server said, well, it's still from the same family. And for the size of the alfredo, she said, she's not the cook. The days of the older woman on a stool when you walk in, getting lots of bread and refills without asking are gone. I give one star not because you couldn't find a good menu item at Venesian but because how, in a flash, what made going there a treat for so long and justified the cost became clearly and finally gone. I will not return. Why would I when even the server basically recommeded a different Italian restaurant that is not a local business but a chain. I'm seeing multiple other recent negative reviews on restaurant sites. If Venesian knows this, why is a server doubling down on not trying to keep a loyal customer? Sad.
We tried Venesian Inn tonight In Tontitown. For years we had heard great things about it. Surely, if they have been in business since 1947, it’ll be good right? Nope. We are wondering HOW they have stayed in business that long. Someone please tell us this was an off night. The service was fantastic BUT…The house salad came out with only chopped iceberg lettuce and dressing. Literally nothing else; no veggies, no cheese, no croutons. So weird. We both got pasta. The noodles were mush (way over cooked) and so salty I couldn’t eat it. Thank goodness there was bread and butter on the table for us to eat!Such a let down. And now I’m trying to figure out what I’m eating for my second dinner.
My parents, (deceased) loved this place in the early 1950's. They later took me as a child, then 30 years ago I went as a newly-wed. Same building, same atmosphere, same delicious food, and service was 'way above expectations, especially in today's current climate. I only gave 4 stars because me and my party thought that the Italian food as a little bland. Well, cooked, very presentable, but could have a little more zip to it. The fried chicken, which is one of the things they are famous for, was top notch. Amazingly juicy and I wish I had ordered more than one piece. Again, the wait staff was constantly checking on us, and interacting with us in a very friendly way.
Great food… large portions and very friendly atmosphere!
The noodles were overcooked… the sauce tasted like it was from a can and we asked for a napkin THREE times and never got one. The rolls were the best thing. Even the chicken… though moist and crispy.. was bland with no spices. I came here many years ago and it was delicious but I give it a thumbs down in 2022.
It has been a few years since we have eaten here and this visit definitely didn't disappoint. It was delicious just like when I ate here as a kid. I cant wait to come back again.
The food was amazing and the service was great. A wonderful family tradition.
