Burned chicken. Tough rolls. Received wrong order. AWFUL food! Only edible dish was creamed spinach. Have been eating here for years. Always loved the food. Will not go back.
The best, crispiest, most perfect fried chicken I've had in ages. The skin was crunchy perfection while the meat was moist with flavor. Mashed potatoes and gravy were heavenly. This is pure American goodness. A place with history that still takes pride. My server was a jewel and was excellent. Go and help keep family dreams alive.
This place is beautiful on the inside if you like stepping back in time. It has a great selection of food at reasonable prices. It's not just chicken but the BBQ boneless Chicken was delicious. They have batter dipped fries that taste like a baked potato. I highly recommend ordering them. If chicken ain't your thing then order the fried catfish.They bring you hot fresh buns and butter. I suggest putting honey on them as well. Then order Ice cream for desert.My only complaint is that the Mac n cheese was not that good but I still ate it.It's over 75 years old and right across from the gas station.
Large group from all over country went to AQ for the downhome cooking. Staff was super nice...waitress was amazing. She was attentive, efficient and did not make one mistake. Everyone raved about the fried chicken. Couple got the smothered chicken in gravy and ate every bite. The fried pickles and Onion rings were big hits. People talked about fired chicken for days....
First time here, the pan fried chicken is melt in your mouth delicious, sides are just as flavorful. Rolls and sweet tea are FABULOUS!! The decor is like a blast from the past, the history of this place is impressive as well. If you haven't been, you need to try it.
Chicken was just okay, sides were terrible! Best part of the meal was the rolls of all things. The waitress was terrific and attentive( highlight of the meal), but the decorum was dated and restaurant was dirty overall.Can see it was probably a great place in its hey day, but it appears to be on life support now, very sadly.3 stars due to the waitress being very nice and attentive or it would've been a 2 star based upon the food and condition of the restaurant.
On Feb 19th 2021 we had to drive a couple of hours to Springdale for my daughters volleyball tournament. My wife is a Razorback and talked about how good AQ was when she would stop by on the way to and from the university. My 13 year old daughter was looking forward to eating there as well. We were the last team playing at the tournament but very hurriedly headed to AQ's when it was over. We got there with 14 minutes to spare (7:46 PM) and knew exactly what we wanted to order. Their posted Saturday OPEN hours are 11AM-8PM. However, the 2 women at the front desk said they had already quit seating and would not serve us! I thought HOW RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL, but didn't say anything. Had I spoke my mind everyone still at the restaurant would have heard how aggravated I was that they decided to close early that night! I will NEVER go back and anytime the restaurant name comes up, or just dining in Springdale in general, I will make sure none of that business will go to AQ Chicken House in Springdale, AR!! Every chance I get to tell how poor the customer service is there, I will gladly let everyone know! DON'T GO TO A Q's CHICKEN HOUSE... POOR SERVICE... TERRIBLE BUSINESS ETHICS… UNPROFESSIONAL... just plain RUDE!!!!
Good food - the sampler platter has got to be one of the best values I've ever seen at a restaurant around here. Lots and lots of fried goodness. My chicken was a bit more burnt than I would have liked it to be, but it was still a good place to go to. Recommended by a coworker and if I really want some good chicken, I don't see any harm in coming back and helping support local :)The environment is interesting, and obviously dated, but hey, it's a neat piece of local history and also gives the place some character imo.
Local classic which I still must say has the best fried chicken in the area.My go to is the lemon pepper chicken over the coals.
I was amazed that my order was correct. So many times in the past it hasn't it been. Our server was very organized.
