Paid $18.52 for the 6 jumbo shrimp meal with 2 sides. Got home & saw the shrimp we're regular sized shrimp, not jumbo. Not sure if it was a mistake or this is what they consider jumbo shrimp. I can buy a 1lbs bag of jumbo shrimp at the grocery store for the same price!
I gave Sam's this rating mostly because of the nice staff. They were friendly and accommodating. The food just didn't measure up. We both had catfish and I'm not sure what happened but it was just bad. I don't know if it was the cook ( we were there on a Sunday) or they were cooking with old oil.....?. I'm astounded at the other reviews suggesting it was the best food ever. We either had a one off event, the other reviewers have a vested interest in the place or they just don't get out much?.
The food was delicious, however we ordered salads as one of our sides to our meal. We were charged $2.99/salad. This was not in addition to our meal this was taking the place of one of our sides. I expected an up charge because the sides were $2.49 and the side salad listed in the sides section said $2.99. When I took my ticket to the front because I thought there was a mistake she said no, it’s a $2.99 up charge. She said they were bigger than most places and had more stuff in them. I asked how much it cost to add a side salad in addition to the 2 sides. She said $2.99. I was so frustrated! We could have had 2 sides and added the salad for the same exact price. Surely this is not correct..
We ate at Sam's today for mothers day. The food was delicious and our waitress Skylar delivered top notch customer service. Such a polite young lady. Our overall experience was wonderful!
This place is amazing….food and staff. The fish, fried pickles, and onion rings are excellent. The pieces of fish are extremely large, but excellent…no fishy taste at all. It’s gonna cost about $20 per person, but this place is well worth it!
Had #14 which was 3 big catfish fried, 2 hush puppies, coleslaw, red beans and rice. Glass of unsweetened iced tea with lemon wedge.
We eat here often. Fish and shrimp are the best around. The fried mushrooms are excellent. Service is usually good but if they are busy can be a little slow but food always comes out so hot you can not eat it.
Fried pickle/onion ring sampler (excellent) topped off with 12 piece family catfish dinner, fries, and coleslaw (excellent). The pieces of fish are huge, but good (no fishy taste). We got the 12 piece family meal and could have fed 4 people easily. Service was great just like the food and portions.
The food was great and a lot of it! Glad we tried it! Definitely will be back.
Delicious food and good service. If you like catfish and good portions, this is the place! Friendly staff and welcoming vibes. The shrimp was a little fishy but the rest of the food was top notch. Well seasoned and crispy batter.
