I came in with a group of 20. Priesthood Motorcycle Ministry Ok Didn't have accurate count when making reservations. But staff was very accommodating to additional that were added at last minute. Food was delicious. And staff was on the ball with food brought to table and drink refills. This restaurant will not disappoint in flavor or service. Look forward to our next visit.
This place is definitely a five star establishment from an experience perspective, the food and the price of the food is probably four stars. The desserts we had were kind of rough. We didn’t know this going in, but there is no menu at the restaurant. They have one option and that is a fried chicken dinner with all of the fixin‘s. Sodas and desserts are extra, but all of the dinner meal is all you can eat. The food tasted like home cooked food. Nothing really special about it other than it was all you could eat and the chicken tasted pretty fresh. I had to add salt to pretty much everything, partly because I’m relatively unhealthy that way, and partly because I think they keep the sodium low for their average customer which is above 50 years old. Again, not a bad experience, the food was fine and the experience was pretty neat, I wish I wouldn’t have ordered dessert. First of all I was already too full from the all you can eat chicken and secondly the desserts were pretty rough. The blackberry cobbler I had didn’t have a ton of flavor and needed a lot more sugar and my wife’s chocolate cheesecake wasn’t very smooth (odd texture) but it tasted ok. I would definitely try this place once and I think we’ll be back to take that rest of the family here for the experience, but it didn’t quite live up to the hype.
We stopped in on the way back from the lake yesterday. The hostess squeezed us in even though we didn’t have a reservation which was so kind. I’ve never had a family style dining experience like this and I’ll tell you it did not disappoint! The food was nostalgic, homemade, and delicious! Price was super affordable also. Very happy this place made it through the pandemic and was as busy as it was last night!
If you've never been you must go. I haven't been in many years. Nothing had changed, food was as good is I remembered ?. Excellent for small family gatherings or dining alone. Everything is served family style and you won't be disappointed the food is excellent, service is the best. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Bring the kids everyone is welcome. I do recommend reservations as they are usually very busy. It's Everything you've heard so if you're thinking ? about going don't wait. Go and enjoy
It's been several years since we have been here. We went on Father's Day and had reservations, glad we did. When we left it was at least an hour wait. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately. Bean soup came and drinks were ordered. As we finished our soup, which was not impressive looking but very good, the food started coming. Service was 5 star, even though the place was packed. Chicken was great, sides very good. Overall a great deal, will definitely be back sooner then this time.
It started with a call at 9am for reservations (this place fills up quickly). I was on the phone with the owner for 10 seconds and the reservation was complete- talk about quick service. We arrived at 4:30, people were already waiting outside. At 5 we were seated and within 3 minutes we were eating. There is no menu at this place, they don't need one. The best fried chicken meal I've ever had, along with coleslaw, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, green beans, fresh rolls with butter/apple butter and bean soup all for $15 a person. Dessert was extra but they had about 15+ options. They will bring you anything you want if you run out until you are full. Short hours but the staff/owner comes around to make sure you are satisfied with your meal. If you are in the area and don't eat here, you're really doing yourself a disservice. Thank you for the heart warming meal, I will eat here anytime I'm in the area.
Don't get me wrong, the fried chicken was good but I guess I just expected too much. For the amount of people and just how busy it is, I would have expected it to be one of the best fried chicken I've ever tasted and honestly it would have barely cracked my top ten. The best thing I tasted was probably the apple butter with the bread.
One menu and loads of it. Friendly staff always with a smile. Unique place, a must visit. Great for big groups.
Food was decent, family style fare. No menu, no choices. Soup starter left a lot to be desired. The fried chicken, potatoes, gravy and green beans were good. Corn was tasteless.
Great place to eat. The chicken is always good.
