Good food, good service. The portions we a little smaller than I remembered and expected I did get full though the tea was very good so I had several glasses refilled. I will go back. The price was fair for the meal.
Sunday evening April 3, 2022 my wife and I went to Grampa’s Catfish House and got the catfish and shrimp platter and true the what I’d heard, that’s the best catfish I’d ever eaten and the hush puppies would melt in your mouth! It’s a must try!
We were out of towners here for a wedding and needed a nice local joint to eat. This place did not disappoint. The service was excellent and friendly. The food was very good. Awesome fried catfish, with all the tartar sauce you could want (which is important to me, I have a problem), top-notch onion rings, THE best coleslaw ever! And I love how the coleslaw is brought out in advance as an appetizer like chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. Everyone loved their food and a reasonable price to boot. It's a must try at the very least. If I lived nearby I would be a regular for sure. Thank you, Grampas!
OMG!!! Went today and when I tell you everything was amazing. We had grilled fish, fried fish, chicken tenders, fried shrimp and fried green tomatoes. Lord have mercy!! All was delicious. On top of that our waitress Megan was super nice. We loved her! We most defiently will be back.
Really good food ! We ordered over the phone catfish. Had the catfish grilled and breaded options, hush puppies and choice of 2 sides . Really good food, all of it, from onion rings , hush puppies … couldn’t stop eating until it was gone . It took 10 minutes to be ready . Very reasonable prices for healthy food , it is the same price as not that healthy fast food . Definitely the best choice for us trying to eat tasteful and healthy food.
The food was ok. Not alot of flavor to fish and burgers but the fries were spot on excellent. I did take out so being able to eat it fresh there might make the difference.
We ate here for the first time this past saturday night and LOVED it!! Very comfortable atmosphere and the food was amazing!! Lots of food for the price! We took leftovers home. We will be back soon
Owner was very friendly. Food was good and service fast. Really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, fried okra and potato salad. Prices are reasonable. Catfish wads a little salty and just slightly overcooked for my taste. Would visit again. Men's restroom needs a deep cleaning.
Gramps has updated their menu! Now serving steak, hamburgers, and some new appetizers! The new menus look GREAT and there was a really good crowd in the house last Thursday evening. Of course service is ALWAYS the best at Gramps. I don't live in Maumelle but I always enjoy an opportunity to dine with friends at my favorite catfish place. Friendly, family-loving (there was a birthday party for a young man, looked to be around 5 or so, while we were there!), and just a comfortable & pleasant experience all around. Thank you Gramps for YOUR work and all you do so we feel welcome and can relax and unwind around a delicious meal in a family atmosphere!
The visit started with a smile as we were immediately greeted at the door and seated. Our server, Bryan, was delightful and fast. Our beer was served with a very cold mug making it icy and delicious as we waited a short time for our cheese stick appetizer. Wow! They were very large sticks of perfect crunch and melty cheese. Our food arrived almost immediately after we finished the appetizer - and our server was quick to continue to bring us whatever we needed, including a fresh frosty mug with each drink. We had the catfish and shrimp for two. Every bite was perfect! The hush puppies were like eating a desert! Amazing! My husband and I both grew up surrounded by seafood restaurants in South Louisiana and could not believe that the best seafood we have ever eaten was in this small town In Arkansas! We will be back!
