While flying in to work for one day, the gentleman I sat next to recommended this place. It was a few miles from the work location so I gave it a shot. Food tasted great, I loved the greens, old school cornbread (not that cake-like texture stuff some pass off as cornbread lol). I got a pork sandwich dinner. Chopped pork had a great flavor, portion was plentiful. My only issue is there was no dining in, to go orders only. I ate in their parking lot in my rental car, so I carried it from their counter to my car just a few feet out the door. A to-go box, even handled gently was a big mess when opened. Glad I didn’t take it any further down the road.
When I say the best I mean it!!! I only had the pork ribs and some greens and cornbread but it was amazing. From Texas so it’s always nice to find good bbq while out on the road. Thanks so much for the awesome customer service and fast service!
Usually I would get bbq from Sims but I remembered the burgers are so underrated and was craving one today. Best burger I have had from anywhere recently hands down! If you haven't had a burger from Sims try it next time you go. #YoureWelcome
Ok so, we had HIGH hopes for this place. My husband is a pit master from Texas. And we try and give other barbecue places a honest review. This place wasn't it. The only thing I did like were the beans, potato salad and sweet tea. The hubs didn't like any of it. The greens he said were too tangy. The ribs tasted boiled and then dressed in barbecue sauce -- which was also on the tangy side, but that just might be an Arkansas thing. Lastly, there was no actual smoke of any kind on the ribs and the sausage was just average. We won't be back.
the food was good, service great but the cashier was even better. To say I was amazed would be an understatement. if anyone hasn't tried sims, you're missing out! LR staple!
They have gone downhill since the early years. I find them to be inconsistent and deliberate. I specifically asked NOT to have the “charred” bits included with my chopped beef sandwich. Below is one of the pieces that was placed in my order. That’s disgusting
My Rib Dinner was amazing. The ribs weren't overcooked, they were tender and the meat was coming off the bone. Potato Salad and Baked Beans DELICIOUS as always. Kids loved their Chopped Pork Sandwiches and Sweet Potato Pie.
We hadn't been to this location in a while, and now I remember why. I ordered a combo dinner with ribs and chopped beef. My sides were baked beans and coleslaw. My husband got a combo dinner with ribs and sausage. His sides were baked beans and potato salad. My beans were mostly juice, and they tasted like they were just poured out of a can.The coleslaw was just mayo and cabbage with no flavor at all. My ribs were very small and half of them were overcooked. My husband was disappointed because the sausages were scarce. It looked like they might have been an afterthought. He had an even smaller amount of beans than I did. He said the potato salad was just okay. It was definitely not worth the $39 we paid for two meals.
They used to have larger containers of bbq sauce for purchase. They are significantly smaller now. The meat barely had sauce on it. The bbq is still the best in LR to me though.
I'm soooo disappointed. Came in from out of town and went to Sim's as a recommendation. They gave us canned green beans and tasteless bbq. The sides were not in containers so liquid waisted in the bag and made everything soggy. Soggy bread, soggy bag, soggy me.
