We had a later seating for Easter brunch, and they were out of over half of the food items. We even had to ask the chef for some crackers to go with dips. Definitely not worth the price, which was the same that others paid before us for significantly more variety. We’ve gone there for years, but sadly we probably won’t be back.
We have been to experiences before and this time it was way sub par. We did the Easter Brunch seating at 1:30. The food for the buffet was meager with half of the food advertised on cards not even being out. We left hungry and almost $300.00 lighter just to drive thru on the way home. We always tip but at 40.00 in added gratuity I had no cream for my cold coffee despite request, and my 1 coke never was refilled. I would have expected better, much better but sadly will not be back for a reaming.
They did not seem to be prepared for 11:00 seating. Many, actually most food was not ready to be served.
We seated at 12:15 per reservation. Our food arrived almost an hour later. 15 minutes after that the bunny arrived. Then out the door for Easter egg hunt and sent on our way. Not only that. We reserved and paid for one adult and one child. After the unauthorized handsome gratuity was added, the cost was some 103$. For chicken strips, fries and the smallest portion of short rib (singular intended) I have ever seen. Not only that. THEN…I had the honor of paying extra for our drinks- coffee and milk. Six dollars. And I had opportunity to pay yet another gratuity. Wow.
I would like to express my extreme disappointment with the Bunny Lunch that my daughter and I attended Saturday April 16. I requested a high chair when I made our reservation. We were seated at noon and there wasn't one at our table, so I asked the host for one who replied - of course. He never brought it. By 12:30, we still hadn't been greeted. A server assistant circled and filled up my water glass at 12:32. My friends at the next table over (who had already ordered drinks and their lunch) invited me to join them. At that point, I asked the bartender for a high chair. He obliged. By 12:40, I was finally spoken to by a server and was able to get milk for my toddler and order our lunch. We didn't receive our lunch until almost 1:30 after the Easter Bunny hopped in. I appreciated that the Bunny did visit with each table so we were able to get a photo. There was no official announcement about the egg hunt so we missed out on that while finally eating our lunch. When it was time for the check, we were charged for the child's milk, which I would expect to be included in a $38 kids meal. I had to ask about the kids dessert and was reluctantly served 2 cookies. Thankfully the concierge put a few more eggs out while we were "looking" since the others had all been found, so my daughter was able to get two eggs. Overall nothing about the lunch was Easter oriented except for the bunny. Receiving chicken tenders an hour and a half after our reservation time is ridiculous. Turnaround time for a prix-fixed menu should be so much more efficient, especially at a kid-oriented event. I would suggest in the future to maybe have some plastic eggs on the table or egg-shaped decorated cookies for dessert. Something themed. The cost of the event in no way reflected the value of the experience. Overall it was such a let-down experience that I wouldn't think to associate with the Capital Hotel. We were so looking forward to this event and ones in the future but this was so disappointing
When there is an event that includes small children and you know everyone is going to be seated at the same time, the servers should be prepared for it. The kitchen should be prepared for it. The bartender should be prepared for it. It took 80 mins to get any food to any of the children at the table. It took 45 mins to even get a cocktail to parents. After the long wait, the soup, entree, and dessert were all on the same plate? Seriously? We still don’t have our tab when other kids run in the lobby and grab all the eggs. By the time we try to be responsible and pay our tab before allowing kids to go hunt eggs in the lobby, there are none; thus, disappointed kids and disappointed parents. You knew the exact number of attendees and didn’t provide enough eggs for the kids, aside from the ridiculous amount of time waiting on service/food. 2.5 hours for lunch is ridiculous and disheartening; especially when the majority of the time is spent waiting to feed kiddos. Btw, why didn’t kids get dessert? Was that extra? I was afraid to ask! We will never do this again and I’m glad we didn’t bring more friends with us than we did.
Called today to ask if we needed a reservation. Asked when they opened and was told they opened at 5. Turns out they are not open for dinner. We got dressed and came down here for nothing. I expect better than this.
The breakfast was exceptional, staff were attentive, knew the menu well, and provided excellent recommendations.
Our waitress had another table who had a LOT of demands, which caused her to not be able to focus on her other tables. We waited for about 45 minutes for our first course. And then at the end, we waited for 40 minutes before we received our ticket to cash out. We have been there before so we were very surprised about the lack of 4 star service.
