Best meal I've had all year.Best Grits I have had in my entire life!10/10 will go again
Basically I threw away 30 bucks and I'll explain why. First off, I tried a cup of gumbo and it's close to if not THE worst I've ever had. It was quite spicy and had a somewhat vinegary taste to it. I only ate half the cup cuz I felt if I continued I might have a bout of heartburn later on. I'm sorry but the chef needs to take a trip to Louisiana and taste real gumbo. Then I had the fried shrimp po boy with fries. The sandwich was just ok and the fries were not great. I don't understand the fascination some restaurants have with trying to fancy up the fries. Basic fries of normal thickness and a bit of salt can be delicious if done right. The shrimp could have used more seasoning and I wasn't a fan of the remoulade sauce. Maybe mayo would have been better on this particular sandwich. The service was good but based on that gumbo I'd be nervous about trying their other cajun dishes. Overall it's a hard pass for me.
Excellent experience. Spicy sausage jambalaya was absolutely awesome. Tried my wife's shrimp pasta- also great. Slightly warm local beer. Good service. Didn't get a parking ticket despite parking illegally since there was little space. Good atmosphere- not too loud. Perfect temp.
Delicious. My Cajun husband could not be more pleased with this place - he's had almost everything on the menu and cannot pick a favorite. The appetizers are stars, especially the alligator and salmon dip. This was my first visit - the shrimp salad was excellent. And the child almost finished off an entire plate of their macaroni and cheese. No kids menu but several kid friendly options. LOVE that they do half portions! Definitely worth a visit!
Cara made the experience. Food AMAZING! Even if Cara wasnt the best waitress in LR, which she is, I would still give this place 5 stars! The grilled oysters on the half shell are not on the menu!!!!! ASK FOR THEM. Amazing smoky flavor, juicy and fat! GO THERE!
This was my first time in Little Rock and stopped in for apps and dessert based on high recommendations. The eats:The Mac and cheese ? - Very rich and decadent - smooth texture and extremely cheesy. Just enough flavor. Very filling/satisfying. Would absolutely order this again!!The bread pudding - very highly recommended by locals and others eating at the restaurant. It was absolutely worth the splurge. You can get icecream to go with it, but it didn't need anything added. It was sweet, decadent and moist enough without any additional side or toppings (besides the rum sauce it comes with).Brussels Sprouts - I absolutely love sprouts and these were good, but nothing overly special. They also were not the crispy type and had a bit of sweetness, which is not my most favorite style (i like them crispy, grilled or oven roasted best), but if that is your style of sprout, these were half decent.Peanut butter pie - paired with the lackadaisical service, this slice cost the restaurant a star - I ordered my slice to go, and felt the slice served was a bit skimpy for the price and was sloppily placed in the container. I actually fixed it up quite a bit to take the picture. The pie slice itself was very tasty and refreshing though - i really enjoyed it. A bit thicker than a mousse and a nice authentic tasting peanut butter flavor.Service:Our waitress must have forgotten about us multiple times or just didn't feel like being at work that day. We sat outside and had to come into the bar area to ask for dessert and for water refills, again to ask for our check, and again to ask for boxes. The restaurant was not very busy and there were other people seated outside too.
Food was absolutely terrible, worst I’ve ever had in Little Rock this is a pitiful excuse for a restaurant. Especially a supposed Cajun/ New Orleans style restaurant, spent 80$ and after I asked for our check absolutely none of our entrees had been touched other then picking and not one person asked what was wrong or anything. We eat at a lot of restaurants in Little Rock and Maddys will be the one restaurant I highly recommend to anyone NOT to eat at.
The bartender was great and she was so attentive. I didn't like the first drink I ordered, but my partner drank it, So i ordered a new drink and she was helpful. Absolutely loved it
Alligator bites and the red fish combination was delightful. Alligator bites we're mostly juicy and the sauce complemented the breading perfectly. The redfish was recommended by my server and I was not at all disappointed. Perfectly cooked fish, dressing went lovely with the fish, grits and green bean combination. The chef at this restaurant is driving to make customers happy. ?
Every time me and my wife eat here it is delicious. If you want a good appetizer the alligator bites are delicious!! For our entrée we can’t help but get the buttermilk fried chicken with greens and mac & cheese absolutely delicious!!!
