Awesome visit after a full day apartment hunting. Our waiter was very helpful and suggested a T-bone that was prepared perfectly. Will definitely be back.

Amazing food and great service. Don’t let the first impression fool you. This restaurant and bar is built in a 25 foot wide building built in the 1920s. Steaks are fantastic and service to match. If Craig is working ask for his table. You will not be disappointed. Not a glamorous photo but that’s the bone from a porterhouse steak we shared.

Does Eat Place is a hidden jewel. There's nothing attractive about its location, ambiance, or anything else that makes you want to go there. Except for the food, which I hope is why you're looking at this review and considering eating there. They've got mouthwatering steaks, four different cuts of beef, purchased and served family-style. For example, my friend and I ordered the 2.5-pound Ribeye to share. The other family-style options are 2.5 or 3.0-pound steaks of various cuts. Sides are also served family-style, with excellent fingerling potatoes and something green, but who cares? I'm there for the beef!We started with a half-dozen fried and a half dozen broiled fresh shrimp—a perfect start. Cocktails are wonderful. Excellent service, too.Getting too long here, so let me cut to the chase. If you're in the downtown area of LR and looking for a steak, this is one of the best options. The restaurant itself is fine, but do not walk from your River Market hotel. But don't hesitate to go there by car—Drive, Uber, or taxi to DOES EAT PLACE. You may thank me later.

worth the road trip from DFW Texas! Best steak ever! And, I so wish I could buy those yummy tamales

Classic, historic place. Service and food was outstanding.

Food was amazing! Mr. Bucky was wonderful! T-bone melted in my mouth absolutely loved it. tamales were awesome!

Love the atmosphere and building. Smells delicious. Service was good for it being 745. Not a long wait for such a big steak. Got a 2 lb medium t-bone. No flavor. Had to add salt for some taste. It was medium/ md rare. Not over cooked, just tough as lesser quality meat is. The tenderloin of my t-bone had some flavor and tenderness. Shrimp were lightly breaded panko? and decent size. Same as what I get at any chain for less. Tartar sauce was good. Salad was pre-dressed and beginning to wilt. All the leaves were laying flat on each other and had no crispness. Tamales were average. My chili was less than room temp. How is that, really? New potatoes were just boiled in water and again no seasoning, just sitting in butter. Fries were the best part of the dinner, especially dipped in cold chili by that time. I had heard so much about this place and was just disappointed. If I was in the area I'd go back for a burger and beer. But, $100 for two and an hour drive. Definitely not

Waiter and food were good. That Salad was Great!

Food was horrible... I had the chicken pasta that tasted like nothing but drained pasta noodles with no seasoning. Had to dip my chicken into some ranch just for flavor. The salad was sooooo gross it was old and soggy!! Not pleased with this place what so ever. DO NOT GO HERE!

Only restaurant I’ve ever left before ordering based on how rude the staff was. Walked from downtown and turned around.
