I always try to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. If something is wrong, they will make it right…Most of the time! That wasn’t true in this case. Let me start by saying the food was mediocre and THATS OKAY. I ordered the Filet & Calamari. Wife ordered Salmon & Caprese. The Calamari has a little spicy kick, battered with cornmeal & was plentiful but not really flavorful despite the spices. My mashed potatoes, I’m pretty sure are instant and that’s okay. They taste like boxed mashed potatoes and I like those but these were bland. The green beans tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. The filet, I ordered medium rare; it was over cooked. The waiter recognized it was over cooked and asked if I wanted it remade. I’m not a complainer kinda person so I said I’d stick with it. Plus I didn’t want to wait 30 more minutes for a steak. Well, I was wrong in not asking for it to be remade. THE FLAVOR OF THE STEAK WAS FANTASTIC, on the outside. The inside was like roast beef.? Wife’s salmon was good. Caprese, the same.On my 2nd bite of my steak, I told the waiter that I’m not going to eat it. (I SHOULD HAVE RETURNED IT AT THE BEGINNING) I did eat about 1/2 the mashed potatoes, all of the green beans, & 1/2 the calamari. Wife ate all of hers. The waiter offered dessert on the house for my steak but we already had dessert plans. Very kind but not a replacement for the $60 filet. We get the $150 bill and I’m kind of shocked. There was a recognized issue with the steak that I didn’t request be recooked. Most restaurants would compensate part of it & most would remove it. I had to ask if there was some sort of compromise and 15% was given. So roughly $18. I guess that covers the tip but the sincerity or integrity was missing. This was my first time eating there and it was a celebration. We just found out fantastic news and it was my birthday. One of which I will not forget my disappointment on a greatly anticipated meal.I wasn’t asking for a free meal and would gladly pay more had it met my expectations. I would have paid more had they TRIED to ensure my satisfaction on the main course. With all of this said, the atmosphere was great, staff was hospitable, food presentation was fantastic, and IF you have a problem with the food, send it back immediately or just leave then bc you will be expected to pay full price whether you eat part or none. (update - pending return - the restaurant has offered to compensate because they can do better...& I believe they can also)
Don't let the host attitudes throw you off...once you get past them, you'll have amazing table service! The waitstaff are so great here. I wish the hosts were trained better in basic hospitality. Also, this place is very pricey for what you get...but the vibe and service almost make up for it.4 pieces of candied bacon app was $15. In the photo below, the entree (honey glazed tri tip) was $30 and was way oversalted. It was very similar to kung pao beef at any cheap Chinese restaurant. Then the side of creamed corn (although delicious) was $10 for that tiny portion.
Our initial impression was not good secondary to a rude entitled hostess who seemed to bothered by our presence. But man! Did Cache manager, servers, and chef wow us! The night included fine wine suggestions, perfectly prepared food, and many smiles! Treat yourself to the chefs table, it’s worth it! Thank you Cache folks for a wonderful experience.
Both of us had the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. They have outdoor seating and plenty indoors with nice bathrooms. We looked at market area for lunch and preferred a restaurant with service. Servers were very nice and efficient.
The food was amazing. First time dining at this location but will definitely not be the last. My party each had an exquisite dinner that I can't wait to try.
Jonathan is, from my observation, an under appreciated hard worker who was at our table more than our server. He made sure our waters were always full and that our empty plates weren’t taking up space on our table. He was also pretty suave. Just wanted to recognize someone who made a difference for us this evening. Also my filet was delicious.
I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could. Cache is one of my favorite dinner spots when I visit Little Rock. Everything is always perfect and I appreciate their continued attention to detail. Never, ever skip dessert here! The bread pudding is phenomenal.
I came here for the Mother's Day brunch super nice . I wish they were open on Sundays for Brunch consistently . Mimosas were yummy and my sister and I had the lobster burgers sooo good .
Excellent service , very good ambiance! Very expensive but worth the spend.
We came here for our wedding anniversary. 03/05/22 The atmosphere and service was great! I was very excited to see Paella on the menu and try it. The rice was cooked more like rissotto than paella's traditional rice BUT..... keep in mind you are in Arkansas and not in Spain. Lol you get what you get and you are willing to pay the high price for it.My only complain was the receptionist right when you walk in. She wasn't very friendly or helpful. I told her we had reservation for a table upstairs and she gave me the first available table down stairs. When I mentioned it, she said I could go look around upstairs myself for a table, but that everything w a menu was already reserved. Mmmmh but we HAD reservations. The people upstairs were A LOT more helpful, welcoming and friendly. We will return!!
