We went for breakfast at 7 am because website said thats what time they opened. We had a scheduled massage so time was a factor. We checked the time the night before to plan our morning. We got downstairs (stayed at The Waters) and they did not open until 8. We went for massage and had breakfast after around 10:30. We waited forever for our food even though they did not appear busy. Multiple waitresses/waiters standing around looking at their phones. Lady tending the bar took our order. Some food was “lukewarm” to say the least. We ate. We paid. We checked out as it was our final day. When reviewing my bill via email from hotel, the Avenue charge was incorrect. I contacted The Waters and they returned my call to say the person entering the amount (same girl who took our order and brought our food) added wrong amount for tip by mistake, over $70. The Waters is nice however if you stay in a room by the street its LOUD most of the night and early morning. We have planned a trip to Hot Springs for next month and have chosen a different location to stay and most definitely to eat.
The Avenue used to be one of our favorite places for drinks, appetizers, and brunch but it hasn’t been the same since COVID (or even open regularly). We were excited to try it for Brunch for Mother’s Day and my husband called early in the week to make a reservation to be told they weren’t doing reservations. We got there at 11:30 and were asked “Do you have a reservation? It’s an hour wait of you don’t”. Why were we told it was first come, first serve when it fact it wasn’t. Three other groups that were waiting were told the same thing yet another group walked up with a reservation. We didn’t wait and found another place but we were very discouraged. Apparently only certain people were lucky enough to be able to make reservations. Not going back anytime soon. Wish it was the same caliber it was before COVID (management not service).
Food was bad. Coffee was cold grits were awful!!! Not what we ordered and stood by the greeter desk for about 5 minutes and finally went and asked someone if they were open for breakfast . Not friendly at all.
We were very pleased with our breakfast of omlets and potatoes, even though we ordered fruit as a side. Definitely an omlet to ease the hunger pains. Like many other places, not enough staff to take care of the number of patrons. They worked extremely hard and were very pleasant. As long as there were not committments a leisurely wait was necessary to order and get served.
The omelettes are delicious and made to order and they come with these to die for potatoes - a must try!! Conner and staff were lovely hosts to our last day in Hot Springs. Will return to the Waters Hotel again.
Food was well put together and presentation was excellent. The food did take some time to come out but it was worth the wait. The beef rib was excellent. It fell off the bone with light effort.
beautiful view, excellent service, delicious and innovative food choices, relaxing ambiance.
What a delightful place with 40s era photos. Breakfast was wonderful. I had the omelet with crispy potatoes and thick toast. My husband had the eggs Benedict florentine. Gloroius! Ask for Sam. She's great.
They actually serve Eggs Benedict(plural 2 eggs) but the menu says 1 egg.....strange.on a toasted English Muffin...????? One half or 2...and some Hollandaise.....$18 ..Suddenly Mc Donald's sausage egg and cheese Mc Muffin (English muffin) 2 for 10 bucks really seems great. Good luck, only a fool would fall for that.
Great views, food and drinks!
