Great food. Great service. Always a clean and friendly atmosphere. To go orders are always ready on time or before anticipated time, and you can get your favorite mixed drink, bottle of wine, or beer with a to go order. Some of the best brisket around.
Wonderful service here, never had my a waiter keep my cup constantly full.Steak was 8/10Blackened catfish 10/10Hush puppies were soggy.Macaroni was a 10/10Burger was 10/10Bacon fries appetizer 10/10
This is a cute spot outside the hustle and bustle of the main town. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was DELICIOUS. Best fried okra I've ever had, and I've tried it everywhere. Would definitely be back again next time we visit.
After visiting Garvan Gardens with family, we stopped at Red Oak Fillin Station for dinner. The service was fast and friendly and the food was excellent. I had the catfish with all the fixings and it was so good. The hush puppies were the best I have ever tasted. I would go back just for them! The homemade potato chips were also delicious. My husband tried the brisket and said it was also excellent. Save room for dessert because they have an amazing selection of cakes and cheesecake!
Delicious smoked meat and fried catfish!We were headed to Garvan gardens when this place caught our eye. We passed by around 12:30 PM yesterday and the parking lot was packed. Luckily we were headed to the gardens first so we ended up at the restaurant around 4 PMWe had almost the whole place to ourselves but the service was still very prompt!We started off with the brisket tacos as an appetizer. We rally enjoyed that there was lettuce on them and not just meat and onions. They were three good size tacos.For our main we ordered :: smoked meat sampler platter and The three piece catfish meal.The ribs are fabulous and the brisket was also amazing. They do have three barbecue sauces at the table but we only needed a little bit of them as the meat flavor was tender and delicious and smoky.The fried catfish was served piping hot and at the peak of crispiness with very little breading. YAY!!!Many of the sides were just good or slightly above average but the brisket mac & cheese is not to be missed. The fried okra was good as well… The green beans and the coleslaw were only average.Great serving sizes! We ordered three plates of food and we had almost a whole plate to take home after we eat as much as we could.The staff was super friendly and very helpful and we never wanted for anything.
Tasty barbecue and friendly service. I had a stuffed potato and the chopped beef was excellent. Coleslaw and baked beans were very good as well, more sweet than spicy, just the way I like it. Hubby had brisket and chicken tenders; he enjoyed it all. Kiddos had chicken tenders and brisket sandwich - they liked both but complained about how greasy their food was. Overall good and exactly what we were expecting. We're likely to return if we're craving some good barbecue.
Didn’t get pictures but the fried catfish was very good. The pieces were large and cooked perfectly. The brisket mac n cheese wasn’t what I expected but good none the less. The hush puppies were very small but good. No corn in the hush puppies, which I prefer. Waitress was good but wished they’d had Walleye available! Will definitely go back.
After ordering our 4 meals at 7pm..... At 7:30 we needed to flag our server down to refill drinks that had been empty for a while. When the food finally came 40 min after ordering, only 2 plates were brought out.... They said the other 2 would be coming "soon". The food they did bring was cold, as if they had been sitting for a while. Fries were cold and stale AFTER they had been burnt in the frying process. One of the meals were made wrong as well. Will not ever go back. Very disappointed. All their signs say they've been voted best in food and service.... Not the service we received, and 2 of the meals were horrible.....the other 2 mediocre at best.
It's... okay. The food was brought out but the ribs, brisket, and pork tasted not even semi warm. It actually had that flavor as if it was smoked earlier in the week and reheated for our meal. The fries were hard and you could have used them as shanks at a prison. I've ate here before last year and it was decent. I just don't think I'll be back unless I'm passing through to Lake Catherine.
SO GOOD! Atmosphere is like eating in a bass pro shop/Cracker Barrel. The fried pickles are bomb and I highly recommend going in Thursday’s for the All You Can Eat shrimp 3 ways- grilled, fried, or boiled. They are ALL awesome. Such a great place ran by some even greater folks ?
