Fair portions for the price- better than the Argentinian however. Prior reviews said no coffee refills, but our waitress was VERY attentive about giving free refills. Maybe they adjusted policy based on prior reviews. Food was tasty and served quickly, although it was not busy when we were there.

Wow! This place was so good we went back the 2nd day. First of all it is nice & cool after walking in the heat. The pecans waffles are so fluffy & delicious. Grits were like your grandmother made. Very good food and fairly quick on seating.

Hey All if you looking for the best waffles in Hot springs The Colonial pancakes and waffles House is the place . The best meal in town

It was fantastic! We were visiting from Louisiana for the weekend, and this was our first breakfast stop. We went around 8am on Saturday, and we didn’t have to wait at all. The people were friendly and the food was delicious. We left very happy!

Breakfast was delicious. I had the western omelette with a biscuit. Both were perfect! My husband had a bigger breakfast which did include a waffle. He said it was one of the best he’s ever eaten. The staff was sweet and working hard. The place is warm and homey. It feels like you’re back in your favorite aunt’s kitchen circa 1980 while she’s dishing out breakfast to a full house. Highly recommend

Quaint place with dinner good food. Country cooking atmosphere with a great wait staff. Food was good, with a lot of menu options. Would definitely go back, was a little pricey for what I'm used to paying for that type of breakfast. That may be just bc of the locations. Overall great experience.

a $13.00 omelet?? simply on ingredients. 2 egg. been all over the country and never! paid 13 bucks for an omelet. not even California. and no hash brown s cane with it either. high prices too. 3 of us. 50+ dollars. and wth with no restroom??

Loved this cozy little place! It's a very relaxing atmosphere with incredible food. The omelets, stuffed French toast (strawberries), eggs, grits, and bacon (large, thick pieces) were all amazing. They have a large menue. We went both mornings we were in Hot Springs. The staff was also very friendly.

Food had a good taste but was cold. The waitress was super nice. Check the dates on your milk!

Pancake House down the road was definitely a higher quality product/mean. Portion sizes are adequate at each place and prices are about the same. The food at Colonial though definitely takes some short cuts and is not spectacular. The syrup literally tasted like....nothing.. almost just like sticky watered down sugar. I make my own syrup at home and you'd be (probably not) surprised to know that most companies don't actually add any maple to theirs, but I wonder where Colonial gets theirs from because it didn't even taste like vanilla or sweet. Again, Pancake House down the road is real maple syrup per my taste buds.Shrimp and grits were really tastey. If I had to come back... I'd actually order that again. We tried to biscuits and gravy. I'm a huge fan of biscuits, but to eat this one, I had to take a knife and fork to it. Pretty overdone. The biscuits for free at Comfort Inn up the road we're better. I'm not trying to be insulting, just honest. The gravy was a pretty typical sausage gravy. Wondering if hash browns are made in house..not sure. They were good. Also got pancakes.. I prefer a sweeter tasting pancake, and these were them. Very sweet, so that might be why the syrup was tasteless. The butter was also weak, not salted. With these pancakes, a salted butter would be better.Again, versus Pancake House that has in-house cream, butter, juice... Hard to compete. Also had no offer to refill coffee after the waitress stopped by to pick up dirty dishes multiple times and just left the coffee cup hanging. Kollective Coffee across the street fulfilled my caffeine needs for the morning.Go to Pancake House. Go put your name on their list, shop while you wait. It's worth it.Colonial is antique looking, cute, and the candy shop down the road is also owned by the family. But the food was super subpar.
