It’s a nice looking bbq joint.I got the Special Operations plate. It had various meats for one to try.The brisket was flavorful but dry.The one rib i had was moist but was not a fan of the seasoning. It was overly seasoned that overpowered the meat. The pulled pork looked appetizing but it was next to the best thing. The sausage was good and almost as good as the pull pork. The beans were great and Smokey. I loved the charred bits in the beans.*The meats were not the stars of the show like it should have. The cole slaw was solid. French fries were nothing special. On the other hand the ice cream was the highlight of the mealFYI. When you enter you order on the left. And you order from the guys behind the digital scales.
I got the Special Ops sandwich which has brisket, pulled pork, and sausage on it. I can't unhinge my jaw so I ate the meat without the bun and they were all excellent. My wife had the turkey and we sampled each other's food (first time at Blue Ember) and the turkey was the best of them all. The baked beans are good with a sweet flavor. My wife had the fried okra and said it was good. The restaurant is a nice step up from a lot of BBQ places so all in all it's a definite keeper. They also have an inside ice cream counter with an outside walk-up. We were full so didn't try it but we will next time!
Our first visit. Friendly staff, excellent food, a little pricey but we'll be back. I had the pulled pork sandwich with beans and fries while hubby had the ribs with slaw and toast. Good size portions and priced like most Smokehouse, just wasn't expecting to spend $33 for lunch. We'll be ready for it next time and there definitely will be a next time.
Horrible! I met a business associate at this restaurant yesterday. He ordered brisket and ate one slice of the 4 given. I ordered burnt ends that were as chewy as beef jerky and baked beans that I’m pretty sure came from a can. All this including my soda totaled over $17 that went into the trash (where it belongs). I hope others will read my review and not waste your money or time. The BBQ at the local gas station is better.
great food and nice clean place to eat. every one was nice and friendly.
I am leaving this five star review because this place has great potential,But I have a few suggestions for the management. There was no sweet tea option. For being a restaurant in the south this Would put this restaurant on my no go list for not having sweet tea. Also the first time I visited they were out of baked potatoes. By out, I mean the person in line in front of me was able to get a baked potato and I was not. It was very disappointing. This was 6 PM on a Saturday evening. Those two things would normally put this restaurant on my never to return again list. But I have to say the brisket that I was able to eat was amazing. I look forward to returning again And being able to dine while eating amazing brisket washing it down with sweet tea And having a baked potato. And topping it off again with the delicious soft serve ice cream.See you soon.
The meats just melt in your mouth! Best BBQ & delicious sauces!
Awesome food, very clean, good staff!
I've traveled all over the world & had BBQ from Alabama to Afghanistan to Iraq to Bosnia & back to Hawaii & Arkansas: by FAR THE BEST I've had in years ?? HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE looking for the finest BBQ within @ least 1500 miles. Sure as hell beats out EVERY BBQ joint within Fort Smith hands down. Don't waste your time or money anywhere else.
Bark and the cooking process is good, quality of meat is not. Inconsistent for the price they charge. Huge chunks of fat and gristle that the cutter decides to leave in your brisket, which means if you’re getting a sandwich you have to disassemble it to remove it. Sure the fat end might have a bit more but this place is just ridiculous.Owner of this business needs to work with his vendors to get more consistent meat, which would ensure his place is the best in town. Other meats are decent, sides are hit and miss, sauces are good.
