Amazing food! My dad loved the waffles, and I loved the burgers! Strongly recommend this place. The bread on the burgers was godlike.
I've gone 3 times and the portions seem to just get some smaller than the last. These "tenders" are the size of a ketchup packet and weigh less than 1oz each. But they charge $10. Don't waste your money here. Photo included to prove size. The restaurant was clean and the staff is always polite but the value is 0/10 would not recommend.
I normally don't do reviews, but I had to because slim's is usually good. I got a buffalo wrap meal with a substitute of fried mushrooms, but the when I opened the box it looked overwhelmingly empty. For $11 I got an incredibly short wrap with hardly any chicken, mostly just lettuce in a tortilla, and 7 mushrooms. The lady at the window was friendly, but everything else was objectively worse than any of the other Slim's in town.
Thanks for that 4 piece chicken dinner that I ordered guys.. ?
My daughter and I both ordered the classic tender meals through the app for curbside. I upgraded to the fried pickles for my side with an unsweet tea and she got fries with a diet Dr Pepper. She sat there for a bit and someone came out and asked about her order. Apparently it hadn't dropped from the app yet so it took a lot longer than it was supposed to.There were a couple issues with the order. We had 2 ranch and 2 gravy. Do you know what happens when you put hot gravy and cold ranch tied up together in a little plastic bag? You end up with lukewarm gravy and ranch. My unsweet tea tasted old but I've come to know that anytime I order tea from anywhere that I take a chance that it will be old. The diet DP was also not diet. But the biggest issue was the size of the chicken tenders. They were tiny! You can see the size in the pictures. I gave 3 stars because the pickles were good. But it was slightly over $23 for the 2 meals and based on the size of the tenders...it was not worth it.
Over hyped. The food was okay and could have been really good but chicken and fries were both too salty. The chicken on the sandwich is only about 1/3" thick (nothing like the pictures). It took 20 minutes for our order to be ready when restaurant was not busy. Later it took 10 minutes to get out of our parking spot due to the very long drive thru line blocking us in.
Slim Chickens is a 3/5 for me because, while they are good, they are terribly inconsistent. On their best days, I would put them above Cain's. On their worst, I would just say go to McDonalds as it will be 3x cheaper and taste better anyway. For some reasons, the food quality and portion sizes seem to be random. About 20% of the time you get these big, juicy tenders and fresh fries. 30% of the time they forget your sauce, the chicken is mostly tendons, and the fries are stale. It is just a gamble every time you go, and for $26 to feed two people, Slim Chickens is fatally close to that line of convenience not outweighing poor quality. On their best days, they can be a 5 star fast food experience. But, for whatever reason, they are more likely to be a terrible waste of money or a disappointment.
5 star sauce (cayenne ranch). 1 star performance for to go order accuracy placed at the drive through or their buggy app. We have five children and live nearby. At least half of our to go orders are missing all of the sauce. It is not a one off experience and is extraordinarily frustrating when spending $25 - $50+ to feed seven people with constant order inaccuracies. They seem indifferent when notified.
The waffle was soft, the syrup was too sweet, the chicken ws too salty and under cooked, the mac and cheese was the consistency of the motz cheese was over sauced but I can see why, to hide the over done macaroni. The portion sizes for the prices were terrible, but it got thrown away. All in all for the 36.60 paid for 2 waffle dinners, 2-3piece chicken strips, 1 large mac&cheece, and the 2 over sweeten , watered down iced tea; ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT FOR SOOOO SPECIAL SOUTHERN COOKING THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE AND I BET THIS REVIEW WILL NEVER APPEAR ON THE PUBLIC POST!!!!! MY STOMACHE HURT FROM EATING THIS FOOD AND I AM GOING TO GO THROW UP NOW!
If you don’t have a while to wait on food and it’s rush hour, I highly recommend going somewhere else. They’re always busy (and for food reason food is typically great) however they’re slow and the drive through situation goes RIGHT THROUGH the entire parking lot. So if you parked and went inside to eat you’ll get stuck waiting forever for someone to let you out.
