Great gumbo, but the sweet tea ahhh madone 11/10

Cafe Rue Orleans has become our go-to Cajun & Seafood place, located in NWA right on College Rd in Fayetteville AR. The food options are plenty and easily sharable. Seafood was fresh and seasoned perfectly. Wait staff is very friendly, attentive and courteous. The young lady who waited on us was very polite and recommended items. And we are glad that we ordered those dishes. It is very small restaurant but don't let that fool you as it definitely packs a punch. We have become a regular customers now.

This place was fantastic! Great portion size and attentive service. The Eggplant Napoleon and white chocolate bread pudding was phenomenal!!

Catfish was awesome. Didn't try any of the specialties but I'm sure they were special. Little pricey.

First time to visit, have been wanting to for quite some time. The restaurant is located in the center of a shut down, run down 50'sStyle motel. Not much to look at from the outside. They have done some updating inside and it is clean and comfortable. We came for lunch and was surprised by the small lunch menu but the server said weCould order from the dinner menu as well.So I ordered the crab cakes and catfish tchoupitoulas based on the servers recommendation. The crab cakes were seasoned very well, lots of crab meat and were very good. The catfish was excellent. The sauce prepared was delicious and the shrimp were good as well. This is a large meal and will certainly make dinner for another evening. I really enjoyed the lunch. There seemed to be only one server and one other in the kitchen so they were only allowing about 10-12 people at a time in to eat but service was timely.

Atmosphere... School cafeteria. They offer boiled crawfish which me and my wife were excited about (both from LA). Special day for us so I took off work and we drove to Fayetteville to get our fill. My wife had called serval times before they opened to confirm they would have crawfish, but no one answered and no service to leave a voice mail. She then called several times during business hours as it was a bit of a drive for us, but again no answer. We went for it and were shocked when we pulled up to a rundown Motel with a dilapidated restaurant. We like dive bars and restaurants so we were still in at this point. When we entered it was apparent they gave no thought at all about the atmosphere. We were still ready to get our grub on but was told they don't serve crawfish until 5 pm?.. Have you been to Louisiana? We expressed our disappointment explaining that we kept calling to confirm they had what we needed but was told "we don't answer the phone" until we open and were to busy when were open. I looked around an only 1/3 of the table at this very small dining area were full. I wish I got the employees name (dude with black hair and black painted fingernails) but he took pleasure in telling us basicly....tough luck... I've matured in my years but would have handled this in much more animalistic manner in my earlier days. Place BLOWS!!! Don't waist your time.

Amazing food. Good service

Fantastic food and service, Josh was attentive to our needs and had great recommendations for the drinks menu. The food has been a Fayetteville staple for over 20 years and serves as a reminder of what good Cajun food can do for the soul. Maudie’s food is something that I crave every time I’m in town, and I always come back for more.

First time eating here!!! It was crowded when we first got there. But I took it as a sign that it was a great place to eat lol. We order the Eggs Ponchartrain with Jazzy Potatoes and a mimosa ?. Delicious!!!!!! Plan to visit again soon.

My wife and I ate there tonight. She had the eggplant napolean and I had the red beans and rice. Both were wonderful. In fact, we have eaten several times in cajun country and the food down there in places is not as good as what we had tonight at Cafe Rue Orleans.
