Awesome atmosphere, friendly and prompt service, great coffee. Seems like a great place to hang out, meet someone to chat, study for school or even have a date at. Totally digging the vibe and feel refreshed after visiting. A pleasant surprise indeed!
Bad experience after bad experience.....- Overpriced:While I feel that most of Blue Sail's items are priced above those of other local coffee shops, I will use their plain hot latte as an example. Blue Sail offers it's lattes in only one size: medium. For a medium unflavored latte, they charge $5.95. Compare this to THINK Coffee's price for the same drink of $4.80, or to Doc's Coffee + Creamery's price of $4.50. Considering that there is no noticeable quality gap in these three beverages, and that THINK actually sources their grounds from Blue Sail, I am aware of no justification for this price gap. Exaggerated prices like this are typical throughout their menu.- Unfriendly Staff:In my experience, Blue Sail's employees tend to seem annoyed and utterly disinterested in patrons, save for a handful of exceptions where they have met some standard of friendliness. The lack of a welcome or goodbye, hasty and detached collection of orders, and general skittishness of employees gives rise to a very unwelcoming environment.- Poorly Stocked Non-coffee Selection:Though they have drinks like Chai and Matcha on the menu, they rarely have them in stock.- Bizarre menu hours:While the addition of a lunch menu is appreciated, their hours are downright bizarre. They only serve food from 11 am - 2 pm on the dot (not a second sooner or later), and though they are open over this period, lunch is not served on Sundays. (??) Maybe there is some reason for this madness, but it certainly puzzled me on the first afternoon I tried to buy a chicken salad sandwich, and the first Sunday I dropped by for a snack. This fact alone has led me to study elsewhere most days.- Never Pick up The Phone:On the rare days that I do plan to study at Blue Sail, I like to try to call ahead before I go, either to get information on the inconsistencies mentioned above or to ask if they have any seating space available. I say "try" because they have never answered the phone. Never, among the 8+ times I have called this year. Usually, I just call another coffee shop, which almost always answers, and I go there. Whether there is some issue with the phone or they simply do not prioritize answering it, this adds to my inconvenience and drives my business away, and likely that of many others.- Scarce Outlets:Though their new interior layout is a great improvement over the previous one, and flow is much better, the space is still lacking some essential qualities. Outlets are important for students or professionals who need to charge their devices as they work. The near lack of outlets in Blue Sail contributes to the feeling of unwelcomness and means that I do not view it as a practical place to study. (competition for the ~2 seats near outlets is fierce)In Conclusion:As it is, I do not recommend Blue Sail Coffee to anyone looking for good prices, a pleasant experience, or a comfortable space to work. I have been visiting Blue Sail for several years, however, I do not plan on going back any time soon. I have heard that their operations manager recently left to start her own business, so some of these issues could be a result of her absence. I understand that businesses experience periods of change and disorder, and I hope that Blue Sail can address some of these issues going forward.
Driving through town and stopped for coffee. The lavender latté was great, perfect temperature, thick rich foam head, hint of sweetness, rich earthiness from the lavender, even had nice latte art hiding under my to go lid.
Great coffee, cute spot and very friendly staff. One of my favorites.
The two baristas that were working were great. The coffee was delicious. I had the volcanic hike roast.Plenty of space to get work done or even just meet up with friends. Clean bathrooms are always a great find.
The coffee tastes excellent! One thing which I don’t like is there is an unpleasant smell in the sitting area. This makes the atmosphere a little bit worse. All other things are great!
Great little coffee shop. Good pour over. Friendly staff. Wifi and a place to hang out. Definitely swing by and grab a cup!

I’m such a fan of Blue Sail Coffee that I get that good, good shipped from Arkansas, all the way to Massachusetts! They excel at bringing out the flavor in their expertly sourced beans. I love that they have multiple light roast options—most roasters have a ton of medium and dark roasts, but not enough light. Blue Sail gets it right! I’m such a fan.
Such a cute and friendly place❣️ I had a delicious cinnamon coffee cake and hazelnut macchiato~ They have such a great selection too, I will definitely be back!
