We went here for the first time today for a birthday lunch. EVERYTHING we ate was delicious. The cajun bread was so good I got another order to take home. Get the big order of it cause it was sooo good. The catfish was cooked to perfection along with jalapeno hush puppies. I think the tarter sauce was homemade because I liked it very much and I don't usually eat it. The gator tacos and brisket burgers were delicious. Everything was fresh and the meat was tender. They told us they have music at night and I am looking forward to going back for this as well as more food. I highly recommend this restaurant. Open Thursdays through Saturdays only so make plans. The server was very nice and kept our drinks full with awesome sweet tea. Homemade deserts were available but had no room so didn't get to try. Great experience.
We really enjoy Almost Famous and try to time trips to family to fit in a stop. The food is tasty (especially the Gumbo, brisket and banana pudding). Eating eating on the front porch is my favorite and I love the New Orleans music and vibe. If you get to visit with the owner, Al, it’ll make your day.
We were greeted at the door by a rude waitress, who told us to wait until she could seat us somewhere. (Mind you, there were over 5 empty tables. And yes, I understand certain waitresses get certain tables. But it was only us and another party— I think they could figure out how to serve us.) The woman in the blue ball cap pointed to the table in the far corner and said, “Y’all can sit there.” I ran into a girl from college that I know and got hopeful that she would be our waitress, but the woman in the hat barked at her and said we weren’t her table.Once we were sat and our drinks were served, we did not get spoken to for 15 minutes. The whole time, waitresses are running around left and right tending to other customers. They see us in the corner waiting and they chose to ignore us. Our waitress was standing at the counter talking, wiping down tables that were already clean, etc. During this time, we could hear the waitress in the blue hat gossiping about customers and other waitstaff. Finally, someone noticed me digging for my wallet to just pay for the drinks and leave and said to our waitress “hey I think Table 1 needs their order taken.” Our waitress said “I totally forgot about them.” after making eye contact with us several times.I know how hectic it can be and I understand when a restaurant is overwhelmed, things can get pushed to the back burner—but we appeared to be her only table. After our order was taken, we got to hear a customer complain about how cold their food was and how their food was prepared incorrectly. However, the owner overheard the conversation and rectified it, so I appreciated that a lot. While waiting on our food, we could hear the waitstaff openly gossiping about the customer that complained. Loudly. In an otherwise silent dining room. Obnoxiously. Our food was fine, nothing to write home about. My steak was cooked well, which I also appreciated.I would have loved to come back and support a local restaurant, and sample more of their menu— but after our experience tonight, I’ll never be back. Maybe there’s a reason it’s not Famous.
They have indoor/outdoor seating, and we chose outdoor. Covered patio, decorated with Cajun & American elements. Very family friendly. Outdoor entertainment was absolutely amazing. Music was fantastic. I didn’t want to leave. The food is exactly as it should be according to my Cajun heritage, although there were a variety of foods from bbq to steaks, burgers and much much more. The crawfish pies were scrumpdillyicious (sp?) and yum yummy gumbo was right up there, too. They serve crawfish (mkt price) in season and also serve alcohol. I can’t wait to go back! Best little place I never heard of till last Friday!!
One of the most unique food experiences you'll experience in the Conway area! Staff was extremely friendly and atmosphere was amazing!! ?? ???
It was our first time to stop in. The steaks and shrimp were great. The wait staff was very friendly and the service was prompt. We will definitely be back.
I myself do recommend everything about this establishment, Owners, plus the waitresses are very nice! The hospitality they show makes you feel at home, and the food they prep and serve is SPOT ON! Thank you all agin for the experience. More to come for sure!
Great food and great service. A cool breeze on the patio, catfish for supper and Trey Johnson play music. Life is Good!!
EXCELLENT service. EXCELLENT sizes. EXCELLENT flavors. Came in with a large group and was seated immediately. Ordered and was hot and fast delivered. Will recommend and will come again. Heard the hushpuppies were the best this lady had ever had from a table next to us! We didn't have any ordered. Will try them next time.
Very good food and service would go again! There was 7 of us and no complaints but from 1 person that said the bacon was overcooked but everyone likes their bacon cooked different so leave that where it is.
