I’m a fan on Asian cuisine, have been since my deployment to various Asian countries. This here Saigon Pho is truly a hidden gem in the hell hole that is Yuma, Arizona.I’m happy to say that this is a well deserved 5 star restaurant. Not to mention they appreciate military personnel they have wood decor for each branch of the military. Not everyone recognizes all of the sweat and tears that go into freeing other countries.I’ve been hooked on chicken pho since my partner introduced me to it, I ordered a plate and a some lemonade which I assumed would be Minute Maid BUT I WAS WRONG, the lemonade is made IN HOUSE and it’s the most refreshing beverage I’ve had in YEARS, it gives Starbucks a run for its money. My partner had the charbroiled beef vermicelli and quoting my partner they said it was “fantastic” they also had the Thai Tea and let me tell ya, I tasted that and I was transported to Saigon. As an appetizer we had the fried spring rolls, they were very crunchy and had the right amount t of filling! The service was amazing and the ambiance is great, will be returning 10/10.
Great food. Highly recommend. My husband and I got the fu noodles with steak, meatballs, etc. and everything in the dish was flavorful and delicious ?. The boba in the tea is more like the texture of gummy bears than the kind that pops in your mouth ?. Still, the drink had good flavor as well.
I stopped by last minute on my lunch. The restaurant didnt seem too busy and was really nice and clean. A girl was attentive and asked if I was ready to order. I placed my order and waited for it nearly 20 minutes. As I sat there I watched another employee shoveling food into her mouth like a 6 year old kid & talking with her mouth full...absolutely disgusting! And then to see she was a waitress licking her fingers.....awful & unsanitary. I ran out of time & ended having to leave without my food. By the time i got my order, my day was over so I picked it up at 630pm. Kind of bummed the food didnt look anything like what i had ordered and the meat was chopped tiny, but was very flavorful, which was a plus! All in all, I probably won't go back. ?UPDATE...to be honest yes the man replying was there when I waited and he very kindly offered me water to which I replied no thank you. I WAS IN A HURRY BUT WAITED AS LONG AS I COULD (for fried rice). I hope this review doesn't come across too negative but I'm hoping they change the employee seating so we dont have to ever witness someone shoveling food into their mouth while talking. It was inappropriate and a total turn off for any customer waiting for food. I wish this establishment the best of success; plenty of other peolple seem to like it a lot.
Large, clean, cool, friendly
Yuma is about halfway to Phoenix from San Diego and a great rest stop. Who would have known there’s a random Viet restaurant out here that is so good! Very rare that you get good Asian food in the middle of no where.Egg rolls - So fresh not frozen. Made to order and deep fried to perfection. Every bite had crispy flaky crumbs.Pho tai - The broth was clear, fatty, flavorful aroma of pho through out.Rice, pork, egg loaf, shredded pork - This came with a side cup of broth. The egg loaf was a bit on the salty side but it was moist not dry, indicating that it’s not days old. The pork was thin, juicy and flavorful.Chow fun - Loved this thick wide noodles. Not exactly the Chinese pan fried version but stir fried with lots of sauce. The wet version.Curry beef - It’s neither Thai or Viet curry but Indian. Could taste the Indian spices such as garam masala. It’s curry over rice and gave off a huge spicy kick.A side of broth was given to the three dry dishes. This broth was different from the pho broth. I liked it better. You could taste the strong bone flavor. My Thai tea was also really good. Not too sweet.Service was exception. The owner knew we were out of town and chatted with us and explained how his dishes were different than traditional Vietnamese dishes. He also catered to our special requests. We will definitely stop by again whenever passing Yuma.
Every time I order the #13 with a Thai tea I get reminded of how fortunate I am to be living in the middle of a desert. I savor each bite until the last always wishing I had ordered 5 more. I don’t care where I’m eating my Pho even if it’s in my death bed, all I know is in that moment I’m happy. Wherever Saigon goes I follow, as long as Saigon lives I live, and if Saigon dies I’m already dead. Love the staff there 24/7 they’re always consistent like the food. Ps tell the cook he’s very handsome.
Good food, good service.
Just got home and opened my flan. It looks like someone dumped a drink inside of it. Waitress waited on almost everyone in the restaurant after I asked her for a to go box, I just went and got it myself. When I got home there was an eyelash hair in the box. I would have posted a picture of that too but it’s already in the trash.I’ve always had good service in the past. This was disappointing.
The food was OK but way over-priced for portion-size compared to most Pho places I have visited. They also didn't offer char-broiled lemon grass beef. Would I go again? Only if I had a huge craving for Viet, and didn't care if I over paid to get it.
The best place I've ever eaten during my Colorodo River Adventure!I ordered there Chicken Chowfun. It took us 1 hour to wait for our food. When I taste it, it was very delicious.#ChickenChowfun
