We drove past it one day and was not impressed with the appearance from the curb. After reading reviews, we chose to try it. It was outstanding! I had the gumbo and my wife had the mustard crusted salmon; they were both very good. She started with a salad and I had the tomato basil soup; high quality. The neighborhood isn't "high-end", but this restaurant knows what they are doing. If we make it back to Yuma we will make this out #1 priority for dinner.
Blown away by this hidden gem. The coconut curried vegetables were outstanding (and I'm not a vegetarian): incredibly flavorful, complex, delicious. My partner was wowed by the sea scallops & prawns. We always share a dessert (when we have one), but couldn't decide between two, so we shared both the flourless chocolate torte and tiramisu.
We were there for lunch. Dead flowers on the table and flies flying all around as we ordered lunch. After our complaints about flies they started trying to swat them. It didn't help. Eventually we found one in our soup.i even killed one as I took my wine glass to drink it. That's how bad it was. They apologized. We had ordered an another soup with our $35 steak and as the waitress approached our table she pulled out a long hair and went back to the kitchen. She returned with a new bowl stating that this one was a new bowl and asked if we wanted to confirm this by looking in the kitchen to see the old bowl with hair in it. We got our expensive steaks and the potatoes were so cold and watered down i thought it was a joke. Yes, things can happen. I get it. But the manager sat at the bar next to us and heard this whole thing. When the bill was presented I asked if she really thought we had to pay. She said" so you are leaving without paying?" I said no but what about customer service and the lack of sanitation and the reviews that could possibly become of our experience. She disappeared and came back with a gift certificate. What??? Do you think we will dare to come back? We left them on the table. She said...you have to understand that we have had a bad day. That's not my problem!! Never again. If she would have handled this different I would have never written this review. But now I have because I feel that her bad day transfered to me having a bad day.and i paid for it!!
All 7 in our party received our entrees COLD. Waitress never came by to ask how everything was going. We had reservations; it was a busy Saturday night. But there is no excuse for cold entrees. Family members who live in Yuma said the portions were smaller than they had ever been. Very disappointed.
Lovely restaurant inside and outside on charming patio. Gumbo very good. Curry shrimp tasty but needs a couple more shrimp for the price. Mushroom soup delicious. Caesar salad good. Crab cakes were ok but wouldn't get again. I made olive oil dip for homemade sourdough bread which was very good. Will definitely return. It's pricey but worth it. Most delightful restaurant we tried in Yuma. Nice wait staff, relaxed service. Sit back and enjoy a lovely meal.
Friday night, 7 of us for a birthday supper. 6 of us who ordered steak were very unhappy. The whole meal arrived cold. The bread was very good. We sent it all back, the owner discounted the bill by 50% and offered free desert. I was the only one that took that offer. It was a very busy, evening so the chefs fault, servers fault will never know. May give it another chance sometime.
Terrible in every way!!! We had a reservation for 7 but they set and seated us in a table for 4, then bread was served and the waitress said “we’re out of butter” and have been for days. We ordered and finally our salads came at the same time our entrees were delivered to the table. The problem was one entree was lost! After asking twice where the beef filet was and never receiving it all others at the table were finished eating! One entree that was received was supposed to be a rib eye steak but it was a round steak. (For the price of a rib eye!) Coffee was ordered 3 times and never received! I could go on, but I’ve made my point. All that and food was mediocre.
Very disappointing dinner last night - reservations at 5:30 pm for my birthday dinner and at 7:00 we still didn’t have our meals!!! People all around us came in ate and left and we were just sitting there!!! Owner was walking around trying to ignore the situation and when the meals came out 3 out the 4 were horrible and had obviously been sitting for some time and not even edible anymore - had to go to burger joint on the way home - I won’t go back - don’t waist your money.
Fabulous food, fabulous service! Nice place! Greeted immediately and made to feel so welcome. Food presentation was beautiful and beyond amazingly delicious.
3 of us visiting Yuma Fri-Sat-Sun. Found on Trip Advisor. Called for reservation, they gave me 7:45. We arrived 7:15 prepared to sit at bar, but our table was ready. We sat inside. Ordered a bottle of wine to share. Everything on menu looked delish!!! Two of us had salmon dishes, the other was lobster ravioli ( recommended by table next to us ). We were all delighted!!! Wait staff was lovely & attentive. Highly recommend.
