Can't go lower on stars due to food be amazing. This is more on service rather than food. For the last 3 visits we noticed how service either stop caring or they are low on staff. Yesterday I went with my family around 3pm ish (after lunch before dinner) all tables were dirty outside and only one family was sitting outside, went in to check with server and told her we would be sitting outside but needed our tables clean. Well, the roll on her eyes said it all. I knew then that there was not much interest in cleaning them. We sat outside anywhere from 15 to 25 minutes and no one showed interest, not even for drinks, while tables were dirty. So we decided to cross the street and enjoy dinner somewhere else and had a good time. Also this adds on top of 3 or 4 months ago when the server had a fight with her boyfriend in the entrance in front of me while attempting to get seated. It's a great restaurant, but I believe management really has to step it up and make it work. I blame it more on management for not being on top of it, and it causes servers to not care. Food is, has always been amazing.

So this place is a locals place. Good employees. Good drinks. Now I didn't really care for what i had which was the meats plate tri tip a d the sausage. Tri tip i guess was supposed to be flat grilled? But it was dry a d tough and the sausage was cold and lackluster. They do deserve a second try to see if it was an off night. For now *** is all i can give.

Nice unique craft beers made there. They also have a ton of other breweries micros on tap and in cans. Great food as well. Took home some 32oz growler cans with our favorites from the flights we tried.

I have eaten at Prison Hill Brewing many times and it always seems to be top notch. They smoke their own meats and have a great variety of dishes and sides. Great place!!

Food and beer is delish. The service and staffing the reason for 1 star. We stood up front waiting to be seated, both bartenders looked at us and ignored. Once sat we order an app and beer. Our food came before beers and we had to remind the server we ordered beer. Looking around other tables we experiencing the same. But don't worry they have plenty of silverware for you, as one employee sat at the bar the entire hour we were there just stuffing bags.

I had the Shank burger and fries. It was super juicy and delicious. Service was great and large variety of drinks. Would definitely eat there again

First time at Prison Hill Brewing. We arrived at 2:20 on a Sunday afternoon and it was 1/4 full. Impressive for a Sunday between lunch and dinner. There were six of us, with two being under 6 years old. We were seated in about ten mins and our server greeted us ten minutes later. Our server was quite slow with our service during the whole visit. The menu was quite creative, with prison-inspired items, such as the Jailbird for the chicken sandwich. I ordered the Snitch: a pulled pork sandwich with BBQ sauce, spicy Cole Slaw on a brioche bun. It came with chips and a side (I got macaroni salad). The sandwich was excellent. Tender pork, plenty of sauce, soft, buttery bun and spicy slaw that had a nice tang to offset the savory pork. It was very well thought out and executed meal.

So, as I sit here waiting for a re-fire of a medium rare burger. My husband is almost done eating. Our bartender acts like we are doing her a favor...sorry you are getting paid!I have sat at the bar now with 2 empty glasses. So, are you losing money PROBABLY. I ordered a pinot grigio way too sweet so I told her I did not care for it. I got a blank look then ordered a sauvignon blanc. So now, I ordered sauvignon blanc and she poured it into the nasty pinot grigio...Still waiting for my burger. Burger came after asking and its medium. No, I am not eating it.Manger on duty just got here but left already...well 2pm no manager?????? What kind of a place are you running???So they comped my meal I never ate and 1 glass of wine.

We have been here quite a few times over the years, and each visit has been very different. Sometimes it has been a 2-star experience and other times a 5-star, so I am going to settle on 4 stars because our last experience this past weekend was great and had us wanting to go back. The food, beer, and service was all really good. We came in on a Friday evening about 4:30 and were able to be seated right away. As we left it definitely started to pick up and there was probably a bit of a wait then. Our server was attentive, our beers came out quickly, but our food took a bit longer than we would have liked. Our kids got pretty restless while waiting. They did have a kids menu and crayons, so that definitely helped some. For food we got The Verdict sandwich, which was delicious. For the side I got the cooked vegetables for my 8 month old. He loved them and so did I, best side of vegetables I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. I highly recommend them. They were also perfectly cooked for a young child to enjoy. My husband enjoyed his sandwich and fries as well. Both of ours had a nice kick. Our kids each got the chicken tenders, one with fries and the other with fruit. The fruit was a disappointment as it was only some orange slices, but they shared the fries so it all worked out. With the beers we unfortunately enjoyed their guest taps more than the brewery's selections. We had the Full Moon hazy ipa, the grand theft hefe (their best in our opinion), and the Insurrection Amber. All just okay. In summary, we will be back :) Pros: *Always new beers to try *Yummy food *Good Atmosphere and location *They have kids menus and high chairs Cons: *Service is unreliable *Beers on average are average *Very few veggie/vegan options

The food was excellent and the waitress provided great customer service! What I did not appreciate the bartender going to our table and throw the menus on the table. Plus she saw us seating and we just got ignored while the waitress was taking care of other customers as she should. First time here and last time coming here.
