Always a great place to meet friends. Vintage, classy 1960s decor. Closed air conditioned smoking room. Amber, and the other bartenders, really know their stuff. Movies on the screen in main room. What's not to like?
Love this bar it is one of my favorites .The drink specials are always great.And the bartenders are some of the best.The vintage vibe is so cool and some is the cleanest bathrooms . Love the shelter all great place with good vibes ?
I love this place. Its good a great atmosphere. Great service. Wonderful drinks. Make sure you try a caramel apple martini or chocolate. You will love it
St.Patrick's Day is Already Happening Here in Tucson at this 1960's Why Fix it if it Ain't Broke Tucson Dive Bar. Gimme Shelter. Come on in anytime after 3 pm to sit at the horseshoe bar or in an original booth. Come as you are and order your drinks to take to your table. Just wish they would start the Irish music sooner than later. Tip real good despite the $3-5 buck drinks for Your Lucky Charm.
What a hidden gem!! I've lived in Tucson for over 30 years and never stopped in. So cool! The decor reminds me of a "speakeasy" dark, red lighting, eclectic memorabilia on the walls. Its worth a visit!!
While on the start of our road trip from CA to FL, Tucson was our first stop to see friends. We were brought here to The Shelter as we were told that the drinks were on par and a spot that the locals go. We are always up for a good cocktail and try to find the best places to go. The outside is pretty cool and an older building, but even better when you walk inside. It was like stepping back in time and the vibe was awesome!They had a long list of Martini's and Halloween Specials as we came at the end of October. I started with a Bloody-tini which was amazing and I couldn't get enough! If you like a good Bloody Mary, this should be one to try! My second drink was off their Halloween Specials Menu and I got the Bobbing for Poison Apples. Let me just say the drinks were fantastic and you couldn't beat the price. I am glad our friends brought us here and would love to come back again in the future. So if you are in the area and looking for a good cocktail, try this place!
Loved the atmosphere and had an excellent Side Car here. Definitely worth the visit. Clean and friendly.
This place, unfortunately was not good for me at all. The inside is super cute and interesting with a lot of pop culture themed decor and was an actual fallout shelter of the Cold War. Reviews support the ambiance, but not the staff or drinks…yikes! I wanted badly to like this place, but it’s a no for me.

Super awesome place! Clean, friendly,Drink specials, tasty drinks and shots, and your normal stuff too lol. Great decor. Really a unique place! Definitely one I look forward to adding to my list of repeats when in the area!
