The Screamery, Congress Street, Tucson Near our streetcar stop we saw a sign that attracted our attention on a hot (102 F) Friday afternoon in Downtown Tucson. "Ice Cream Made From Scratch" said a Holstein cow’s face in a storefront. We were ready! Justin, the Server, named a few of the nearly 25 current flavors. Chocolate. Vanilla. Strawberry. Mississippi Mud. Cookie Dough. Triple Play. Bourbon Brittle. Floats. Shakes. Banana Split. Even Ice Cream Nachos and a 6-flavor flight! How do I choose? We were at a loss. What to do? Every flavor sounded delightful. Which ones to choose? Patti and I both settled on a 2-scoop cup. She chose Butter Pecan and Cowboy Cookie while and I had Rough at Sea and absolutely could not resist trying Bourbon Brittle. A half-hour passed most pleasantly while we watched people out the front window and savored each bite of this delightful finish to our Special Saturday. This was our first visit to the Screamery, but not our last!

Omg, try the Rough at Sea! This is sooooo good, it should be illegal! Second one of these locations I’ve tried, and definitely no disappointment in sight!

Cute little ice cream place with unique flavor combinations. We got the sampler for $7.95. Service could have been friendlier but there was only one girl and she seemed overwhelmed and not happy to be there. Overall I do recommend trying the ice cream.

The Screamery is definitely something to shout about. We cooled our heels in the parlor on Congress on a recent 95-degree day and tried several of our favorite flavors - blue berry cheesecake, chocolate and peanut butter, coffee and butter rum. The very creamy, flavorful homemade ice cream is an oasis in the desert. We’ll be back!

The name of the place reflects the taste I expected and experienced. The flavor I tried was creamy, packed with flavor, and really hit the spot. I had actually wanted to go to another shop on the same street but chose this place instead because they offered ice cream flights and described the flavor profiles on their menu. Also, though there was only one person on staff when I visited, the young lady working there provided consistently good service to everyone coming in the store.

Had the nachos and they were so good! The service was great as well!

Large selection, great prices. Just understaffed and long wait when we visited.

My family all got different flavors, and they were all delicious! Those little chunky bits in the honeycomb ice cream were so good.

Ok so i love/hate this place like it's so freaking good that it seriously screwed up my assertion that I could limit dairy by checking off ice-cream. Argh. So if you love ice-cream but it doesn't love you, this place is nigh hell. It's where that lil devil on you're shoulder is pushing ya. But if you've got no qualms with dairy then you and your lil angel will be on cloud9. My sis and I enjoyed 3 different flavors the names of which I've since convinced myself to forget but I know one of them involved salted caramel and another had actual chunks of crystallized honeycomb. They were all delicious but the honeycomb was a bit harsh on my teeth so I recommend immediately flossing after eating.

Tried the munchies ice cream flavor and I highly recommend it!! Super good. Absolutely one of the best ice cream I have ever had ever. Prices are low too and reasonable. The seating area is clean and nice. Don't think about going inside, just do it! You won't regret it.
