This is Taiwanese and Hong Kong based food , and it’s wonderful. Huge amounts of quality food are always served..Most dishes here are large enough to serve 2-3 people, easily. The prices are 15 dollars for most dishes with quality duck, fish, and seafood , and meant to serve 3 people. Mongolian beef , and hotpot’s , as well as Korean bbq is on the menu , dynamite shrimp, and other popular cuisine in Hong Kong, and America. I had duck noodle soup , with almost a whole cooked duck included , and half a gallon of broth , all for .for 14.99. The hot and sour soup was the best l have ever had in Arizona , or California.. The favorites, like spring rolls, miso soup, and other many, Americanized Chinese food , like Mongolian beef , egg drop soup, hotpot’s , Chinese barbecue , are all on the menu . The restaurantIs squeaky clean, and the food is always great . We have ate here now six times in a month , and the food was always outstanding. MyHusband loves the cleanliness, and the fresh food , as he is a epidemiologist who will not eat at any restaurants , without first checking the publicsanitation reports on the cleanliness of the restaurant, the food , and proper hand washing techniques of the staff. This restaurant has excellent cleanliness reviews from Pima county, and many popular restaurants in Tucson, do not have passing cleanliness reports.
This was our first time at this restaurant where we visited outside at their seating areas, our group of eight. We weren't too concerned about covid as there was plenty of space between our group and any other group. The food was decent, pub food of course. However the band was very loud even though we sat quite a ways from it it overpowered any conversation one wanted to make while they played. I guess people go to listen to the band rather than to chat. However it's always nice to have background music of any style where one can converse with friends while dining. I would recommend this place if you don't mind having a loud band, especially because they're outside seating is perfect for current situation.
First time here.Jasmine tea was luke warm, appetizer egg rolls were still frozen inside .Roast duck rice served with soy bean sauce lacked flavor.Service was Great !!!
Unexpected gem. Our group of four was passing through Tucson on our way home from a weekend in the Bisbee-Elgin-Tucson area and stopped at 81 Hong Kong Cafe for lunch. We were not expecting the high-end unique plates offered here. We selected from the Mainland Classic menu and opted both for the pork belly with garlic. Tender, thinly sliced mostly lean with delicate flavor and the right amount of heat. The pork belly was heaped into our plates. So much so that we had to bring half-portions remaining home for a second meal. The fried calamari is what ALL fried calamari should be. Not salty. Not rubbery. Served almost as a tempura accompanied by roasted onion and strips of bell pepper. Very creative. We were pleasantly surprised at the end of the meal to be presented with servings of an air-light complimentary dessert of coffee dusted-infused cream pudding with the lightest sponge cake buried inside. Absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is squeaky clean, bright and spacious. The menu is written both in English and Chinese. This place is authentic with nothing ordinary about it. Quite unique and deserving of your support.
The restaurant is clean, the foods is good, but when I paid she didn’t tell me she charge me 18% forService charge, so I paid another 15% service charge, it cost me over $170 for 6 people, that’s not right,She needs to let the customer know, she charge the tips already. Also she didn’t give me the receipt, I went back to ask her. When I looked at the receipt , I was so upset, I paid 33% service charge. My order # FVT2SBQA1K35W
Delightful Asian restaurant, with authentic flavors, generous portions and real atmosphere. This place is a dream come true for anyone who enjoys food from the east, kpop, and a chill atmosphere.I almost ended up deducting one star, though, because the waiting staff was pretty unorganized and forgot the basics -- like checking on tables, refills of drinks, and for the neighboring table even cutlery. However, I put it down to a busy day approaching an end.Overall, you get much more than you would expect from the outside. I will definitely be back.
The food here is amazing. This is mine and my brothers favorite spot for some Chinese food. They have awesome teas. Service is always great. Love this place.
The first couple of times we tried food here it was absolutely delicious. Last night we ordered a vast number of dishes: black pepper shrimp- tasty sauce but dry over cooked shrimp and the tops were so stale and crunchy, we wondered if they were yesterday’s shrimp cooked again! House fried rice and kimchi rice: both bland and salt less and meat dry. Pickled bamboo shoot and mushrooms: do not recommend. Chow fun shrimp: tasteless. Lo mein: tasteless. Everything was bland, no flavor and very disappointing for the price paid. We were shocked as some months ago it really was good. Is this a sign of starting out great and unable to maintain? I don’t know but had it been one bland dish I would understand but all being tasteless was extremely disappointing.
My son took me they're very good food you have a variety of everything they even have sushi great place to eat you got to try it
Not sure why we did not go back here? You'd have to discover yourself. I know it had to be decent for us to even try it, I know we did some prior research on this restaurant.
