Former Smoothie King employee. If you are thinking about working here, DONT. The owner Jorge Ramos is absolutely terrible. We had a former employee stalking and threatening us and Jorge did little to nothing and fired our manager and assistant manager when they didnt feel safe. Jorge Ramos would not fix our store cameras and saw his employees solely as how they could make him money, and not as actual people. After our drive thru window was shot at, most of our employees didnt feel safe. In this time Jorge was being very short causing most employees to quit. I was ultimately told I had to quit or transfer to a different location after not being told a thing for days and Im a highschool student and cant afford to transfer so I was forced to quit. Best job ever until Jorge decided to be a little punk.
Waited 25 mins in the drivethru only to get to the front and be told we can't be served because the receipt printer was down. Cool! I don't need a receipt! However, the employees are so undertrained they cannot make the smoothies because they rely solely on the recipe that prints out with every new order. After reading other recent reviews I can see why the service is unexcusably terrible. You are literally able to drive 6 miles to another location, get a smoothie, and drive back before the drive thru line moves 1 inch. I won't be back to this location and will be spreading the word, sounds like the owner needs to step down or listen to their employees more. ✌️ would give 0 stars if I could.
Former Smoothie King Employee: as of yesterday, that has ended. The reason the lobby has been closing early is because we as employees were working in a dangerous environment for the past 3.5 months. Our company van was burnt down, drive thru window shot out (most recent incident), and have had a stalker watching the females. Jorge Ramos refused to do anything about it except let us close early. No cameras like we were promised, security got too expensive for him to be willing to cover. Our work reflected the effort that we were given from our management. Jorge wrongfully let go our general manager and assistant manager because they didn't feel safe at work and were told they need to keep the store open to make money. No less than 24 hours later, he had a completely new crew in there (Yesterday, 5/12/2022). We were basically all replaced because Jorge and the owners view money as more important than worker safety. 3 of my coworkers needed money still coming in and so they went in for their shift today. Complete mess. The last 3 from the original crew walked out because of how much a mess the store was.
Smoothie king in river was terrible. I recognized a few workers I believe named Alannah and Raven. They were spectacular as always. However, they informed me most of their coworkers were let go and the new employees they were working with were absolutely rude, impolite and didn’t know what they were doing. It was a bit busy and Alannah and Raven were the only ones doing anything. The new workers were just standing around.
Management is horrible here. They do not know how to treat their employees or provide support when they need it. Over 10 employees have quit this week and have had to close the business periodically. Good luck finding employees who want to work here.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Love the other two locations in town. I love to take my kids for a special treat. Cost adds up when we go too often so I order a large and ask them to put it in two cups to save a few pennies. Other locations are really friendly and happy to do that. This location refuses. They'll put it in a large cup and give me an extra small cup. First time that happened I ended up spilling smoothie in my lap. It was a total mess. I emailed corporate. They apologized and said they'd contact the store. Went back again yesterday. They said they wouldn't do it. I said then I'd cancel my order so they said okay, they'd do it. Got to drive up window and same person from first time told me he talked to the manager and they won't do this again. He said I'm, "Playing the system." Kind of ironic since I bet they would make one large smoothie in one container then split it in two cups and charge me like they made two individual smoothies. So, I won't be going back to this location. I go to places with friendly customer service. I go to places that are glad to see me come back frequently. It's really poor business policy to haggle customers over a few pennies. They're losing out on a lot of sales. (Remember the adage, "Penny-wise, pound foolish.) I'll stick to the other locations and they can get the profits this locations doesn't seem to want. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but my daughter only drank about 1/4 of her smoothie. She said, "It tastes like water." She was right. It really could be a coincidence.
We love Smoothie King! Definitely recommend signing up for the rewards through the app, so you can get discounts. Our smoothie was ready on time (ordered via the app), delicious as always, and the staff were very courteous.
Excellent shakes, but this location has some problems. We showed up tonight and the door was locked at 8pm, we stayed and they finally let us in, but it was frustrating when there is a sign on the door that clearly says "happy hour, buy one get one half off 7-9pm Sunday-Thursday" should not be locking up and putting chairs on tables a full hour prior to closing. If it's drive-thru only, there should be a sign.Of the 5 or so times we've been to this location, they've messed up some part of our order only once. However, we've had to request the advertised discount every time.
