This is the best steak house in Tucson! Good prices and it always smells so good! I had a nice thick cut prime rib this time and it was amazing.
ive lived around the corner from this steak house for 25 yrs, literally havent eaten steak anywhere in the country as often as there. Sadly, it is NOT what it used to be. Way overpacked, Way overpriced, Way overcooked. Medium well typically has some pink, and does not taste burnt. An entire appetizer, all fried items were either fried in old oil or burned, or both. Looked too disgusting to bother tasting. Takeout order at the bar, staff was on top of it, front desk staff was very decent as well. Maybe they just need a new cook or head chef. But without even bothering to look at the food you are packing up for a to go order, thats just bad business. unless of course they burn or use bad oil on the regular. Definitely no longer a wknd steak option. Too many options in town for expensive burnt food, with easier access.
Kept seeing steakhouse from I10 in tuscon. Finally decided to stop for lunch. Holy cow!!! Food was amazing and lots of it. Service was top notch. Will be our choice in the future as well.
Prices are high, Texas Roadhouse is much better if you are comparing taste and value. What a mistake taking g our friends to a restaurant we have never tried, but so many love this place. Wine selection, don't bother, my new York was ok but the others not so much. Onion soup, greasy, not edible. Salad served room temperature, I like mine ice cold. Very old decor but not in a good way. Dark lighting. Beans were luke warm soft and hard. Really hoped this would be good. Very disapointed
The best prime rib, my cheladas and the best service.❤️?
Cowboy steak cooked over burning wood right in the restaurant, not hiding in the kitchen. Dropped on well scarred iron plates that sit directly on the grill itself. All things considered just like Arizonan Cowboys did it 200 years ago. No table cloths; worn table tops. No glossy marketing materials on the table trying to bamboozle anyone and make them think there is value when there is none. This place earns your respect the old fashioned way; by providing the essentials professionally at a very fair price... At least by Chicago standards. In and out, stuffed like a lion that dropped a gazelle, for well under 80 bucks for the two of us. VERY good steak and "Cowboy Beans" that were damn near as delicious as the steaks themselves; drank the sauce from the bowl after the beans were done as appropriately and politely as this can be done in public. Our waitress grandma was not eye candy but did not pander and did not waste our time but was honestly friendly and received a substantial tip having had earned it. Neighborhood kids working hard and doing a great job of keeping the tables clean. Great experience if you don't care about glitz and glamour and are looking for fantastic, honest food without any of the usual frustrating American chain homogeneity.
For the most part, this place is amazing. The staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is great. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The onion soup was incredible. However, the steaks were really bland. There was little to no seasoning, which was a bummer. But other than that, great place!
Reservations we were seated on time BUT in the incredibly noisy bar. Should have refused the table. Waiter: Good Food: Rolls (1 each cold and dried out), Salad (fresh generous BC dressing), french onion soup(too salty tasted fishy like old bay) baked potato loaded (warm good), NY strip med rare and t-bone med rare. Cooked perfectly but the blandest steaks with no mesquite taste at all and waiter brought with the meal a shaker of house made seasoning like he knew the steaks would be bland. The restaurant obviously very popular but frankly we don't get it.
Good vittles and great atmosphere. highway nostalgia
I have been enjoying Silver Saddle for almost 25 years now and tonight was the first time I tried their prime rib. My husband and I split the King cut and it was more than enough for us. We also shared the fresh dinner salad and a baked potato. We had the prime rib seasoned and thrown on the grill. It was so delicious and tender. For dessert we split a piece of mud pie with our other family members. It’s a must to try, fresh made daily. Silver Saddle is a cozy and casual place that has stayed consistent all these years and I highly recommend it to locals and visitors.
