Great sushi, awesome interior/decor, love the private booths. Sushi rolls were surprisingly larger than what I'm used to, which is awesome considering sushi ain't cheap - in this case, the price was more than fair.A bit slow getting the food, but no issue with me there since the place was very busy as soon as they opened. 100% coming back.

I am a person who loves sushi and my family and I love sushi cortaro, because it was close today Monday we decided to explore here at Shogun, we order the food and it was okay, now when I realized how disgusting the walls and table cloth I told the wait, they did nothing second thing that was bad was the service, after bringing the food no one ever came to see of we needle anything. I waited from the moment they brought the food until the time to pay our food and my partner wanted for a soda refill and no one ever came. But the worst of all was how disgusting the tables and walls are, completely on sanitary. I would give this place a one star because the food was okay but not the greatest.

Portion to price is fine if you want bargain sushi, but you definitely get what you pay for. Fish is not fresh at all, very low quality of all the sushi places in Tucson. They had toro on special so I got it to try on 2 different visits, got sick both times. The fish was overly fishy, dark and hard to chew apart, didn't have any melt in your mouth buttery texture like you would expect from fresh toro at all. I wanted to like this place because my friends like to go for beer and they have private booths which is great for groups. Other than that, if you are looking for good and fresh sushi, I wouldnt recommend.

Top rated experience, both the food and pleasant conversation with the owner and one of the sushi chefs. Many creative rolls and the hamachi and toro were first rate. We will be back when in ABQ.

I really wanted to like this place. My husband and I came in from Chandler for the weekend and decided to try Shogun on this Friday evening. I read some great reviews, and it’s close to where we’re staying. The service was less than desirable and Apparently there’s a lot of people that don’t honestly understand the difference between good sushi, and very sub par sushi. Maybe it’s because we ordered the rolls that were on special, not sure. But I couldn’t even finish it, and I’ve eaten sushi for many years!! It’s one of my all time favorites! But the fish was awful (tasted foul) even the sprite, mixed with city water was disgusting. My husband did enjoy his bottled beer and that’s about it. Next time we’re in Tucson, we will keep with all the wonderful Mexican cuisine, and gladly stick to our favorite joints in Chandler and Scottsdale for Sushi! If you do take a chance and try Shogun, I’d advice sticking to sushi that’s not on special, hopefully you’ll get fresher fish! Now I’m just praying we don’t get sick!

Drove into town and wanted to eat out a a 4 ⭐️ rating. Miso soup that was serve is yummy as well as the fried squid. Not all of the appetizers were available but it’s understandable due to the fact it’s a desert state. However I was not very impressed with the food. Bulgogi came in a soup form, volcano sushi was basically a roll with really hard rice that made it unpleasant to chew. The salad with ginger dressing just tasted like soy sauce with lemon. The ramen toppings was appetizing but the noodles were over cooked.I gave it a 3 ⭐️ due to our waiters/waitress was very attentive and friendly. We did come in a big crowd and was able to book a table right away with a phone call.

My favorite place for sushi in tucson. Good staff, great portions, great specials and also ask about the SMT

Food is always great, very talented sushi chefs! However this is the 4th time in a row where service was so bad I apologized to my friends who I brought to show the place. I worked as a server for many years then I actually started my own restaurant. I understand both worlds, the world of the server and the world of the manager. To the managers of shogun, I’ve seen this many times servers get greedy, they say they can handle the number of tables when in reality they can’t. They just want the money that comes with lots of tables… I brought 3 people and sadly I couldn’t convince them to try it again another time, after our service.

Place has a very cool and dark ambiance with a water feature inside. I think the water feature is a bit loud for the first 3 seats nearest to it. They have private rooms that look nice. The service is something to be desired though I think the guy I got was new because I could hear him practicing the pronunciation of the Japanese words on the menu. Food was pretty good. Rice felt like it wasn't cooked long enough or enough water and it wasn't all that sticky like I've come to expect from my sushi rice. I was overall impressed with the quality of the raw fish and presentation of their chirashi.

Awesome food, huge Nigiri portions, reasonably priced, great service. Everyone there works so hard to make sure people are looked after. So great to see when other restaurants do not meet that goal. We will be back!
