We stopped at Rosa's on our way out of Tucson back to Phoenix. It has a nice traditional vibe. The food and service were both fantastic. Highly recommend if you're in the area!
I asked to see a menu as I looked at it at the front door. I decided to stay and eat in. They charged me $8 MORE for my food and $1.50 MORE for my margarita. I asked about the prices costing more from there menu and the guy just said that the to go orders are cheaper, which was the menu I was looking at. Which makes no sense! If it makes sense to you please chime in and let me know. Food was average and service was like all other reviews mentioned. Never going back!! The only reason I went to ROSA'S ? is because my favorite spot was closed today "MARIA BONITA" highly recommended!!
I love Rosa’s. I’ve been coming here for years. It’s yummers! The cheese crisps are perfectly cheesy and crunchy, the chimichangas are perfectly chimichanga-y, and the salsa….. a mouthwatering explosion of garlicky, zesty, cilantroy, spice-o-lisciousness. Super yum! Be warned, the salsa is not for babies. There can be problems the next day if you eat as much salsa as I do. But that’s life in the Old Pueblo. And, like Bruno, we don’t talk about it.The main reason I’ve come to Rosa’s over and over over the years. I can’t get over the #9. The chile rellenos. Ka-bam! It’s over the top. This is one of the few places that makes their rellenos in an ortega and not a ranchero sauce. I can’t quit it. Like Brokeback Mountain. One criticism. The guacamole. It’s about as mediocre as it could be without being just plain bad. Boooo!Whatever, I don’t come here for the guac. I come here to frighten my cardiologist and regret life after my first cup of coffee the next morning. And for the #9: two chile rellenos, rice and beans. Yummmm!?
It’s been awhile since I’ve had lunch here and seems to only have gotten better not that it was bad but it’s so good I got the #11 three different enchiladas. The food was hot and service was great. Rosas is a must for authentic mexican flavors.
Great food, enchiladas were delicious and fajitas were good but could have used more than 1 tortilla. However everything was way overpriced, the meals were 15-20 and margs were 10. Overall, they need to think more about making good quality meals and less about their bottom line.
Old school traditional family owned Mexican Restaurant. The artistry of the interior and customer service is proof that practice makes perfect. Order a family platter of several different items to share with a friend to try the deliciousness. My favorite is the best chile rellano in town. I have lived in Mexico, raised in L.A. and never had better. The spongy omlette is neither bulked up with flour nor fried in polluted oil too cool to ever just melt the quality cheese while quickly puffing up the eggy dredge. Ya just gotta go. Despite half full tables these days of Covid, the family kept it open with their charming hospitality intact. Many wheelers and dealers have met here. Willie Nelson left an autographed photo that even impressed this grown child of Hollywood.
I had the red chili con carne, and it was excellent. I love really hot food and this did not taste like any hot spice at all, but really good. Tortilla was hot and fresh, and salsa was great! I'll be back for sure.
With so many Mexican restaurants in Tucson, it is hard to say Rosa's is a cut above everyone else. The food is very good, though. We had a carne asada burrito combination, tacos, and Jesus' special. Everything came out quickly despite the restaurant being crowded. We all enjoyed the meals. They are currently short staffed but we only noticed it being a problem when we were looking to refill our drinks.
Great food. Awesome Chili Relleno. Best salsa I've had probably in forever. Downside is everything is woefully overpriced. Two Chili Rellenos with rice and beans was $18.
The food here was not just great but it tasted authentic. Portion size and pricing was also good and just the right amount per person. The ambiance of the restaurant was also nicely laid out from the decorations to the art pieces throughout the restaurant. Staff is super friendly. If you go the flan is a must as well as the Margarita. They are both sweet enough without feeling overpowering. Will definitely come again!
