Dry chicken and powder like sauce. Sauce unevenly applied. Pickles add no flavor contrast and coleslaw is thick chopped and doesn't have any flavor. Portion is equal to price if it tasted good.
I went to their indoor location in American Eats Co. Decided to give them a chance. Their breaded chicken filets are all piled into a fryer basket suspended over a fryer. Dont know if they're prepared ahead of time but i would have liked mine dipped/made to order. The chicken didnt come out dry but it came out stringy. I asked the guy what sauce i should get since i like spicy but i want it to have flavor and he told me MILD. I laughed and said but i like it spicy so he gave me regular Hot. Their fries were anemic, sad, and dismal to look at. Gray spuds, stringy chicken, rubbery thin slices of cucumber? Only things i liked were the sauce and the buns. Two stars.
Good vibes, great location, very laid back. The chicken needs to be breaded and fried. If I can’t hear it crunch I don’t think it should be allowed to be called “fried.” Also, toast that bun please!! I think it needs some help on the atmosphere, like some live music and more canned drinks/happy hour.Other than that I’m looking forward to this place growing big in the future!
Too bad this is the only place in Tucson with hot chicken, I tried Dave’s hot chicken in Nashville and BOY did they set that bar high. Waited over 40 minutes and man when I took that first bite I felt robbed. Don’t waste your money.
Love me some Pops Hot Chicken ?!! The consistency and greatness of flavor in my order each time I go has been 100%. It’s quite addicting so I go 1x per month at a minimum. This place will go up against any one of the big franchises.
Place was good but they literally only had one food option that could be ordered at like 7:30 on a Friday night
I’ve been stood up by this restaurant too many times. I just waited over an hour for them to supposedly open and never did. Inconsistent hours makes my ability to enjoy this restaurant that much more if it’s never open. Great food tho.
Times that Google maps shows for open hours are incorrect.Time to open posted by themselves seems to be incorrect also. Waited over 45 minutes thinking they might just be opening a bit late. Checked several times on when they open and several posts made by them within the last hour said 5pm. Waited there till 5:45 and still nothing.
Great food, great people working there. But during these times it's hard to constitue sway fries and a sando for 30 dollars.
Pop's Hot Chicken ran OUT of fries the night I was there, but STILL CHARGED me FULL price of the Chicken and FRIES special....what kinda garbage is that...just charge for the Chicken...how are you going to charge someone for something they will NOT get....complete RIP OFF
