I went there while my friend was getting a pedicure across the street. I had a couple of drinks they were okay and I had their cheesy tater tots they were Beyond excellent. Usually I save a few I every single one
Got take out. Pizza by the slice spot with decent pizza. Looked like a good atmosphere with maybe the music a bit too loud to converse, but I didn’t stay.Pizza was a decent NY style
Decent pizza, but not life changing. Very much a college student party vibe. There is nice outdoor seating, a full bar and plenty TVs to watch games.
I have been a frequent patron of No Anchovies to the point that the bouncer recognizes me and greets me with a hug. I have always tipped 30-50%. I occasionally even brought friends there. Tonight, there were several screens displaying gummy bear shots for $5. After rent, I had about $100 to pay for food and transportation this week, and I decided I was going to splurge and get ONE drink for $5. I said "Can I get a gummy bear shot?" The lady took my card and then handed it back to me with a receipt which had the price $20.87 listed. I told her there was a mistake - I ordered a gummy bear shot. I pointed to the screen directly next to the bar which listed the price as $5. She told me it charged me for four. I asked for a refund. She said that wouldn't be possible. This was HER mistake. That was my entire food budget for tomorrow. Do you understand that??? This kind of policy can literally make someone go hungry. I'm warning all of my friends who have any kind of budget not to go to No Anchovies, and I won't be returning.
Pizza is ok, but is made worse by the staff. Every single woman serving pizza here has been extremely rude and mean. I’ve had condescending comments made towards me by the women behind the counter. I am always nice to food service employees but I have never experienced such stinky attitudes from employees before. Stop hiring these types of women.
I specifically checked this spot out cuz of Dave portnoys pizza review, I got a cheese, pepperoni and the pesto artichoke. The cheese and pepperoni were good, great flavor, good crust but the artichoke was pretty bad. Shout out to the staff, very fast and friendly. I'd give em a 7
not horrible but there's way better places in Tucson and nearby. in general main gate square sucks with a few exceptions.
It was good pizza, in the fun University area of UofA. Basic and not very expensive. Nice upstairs could be great for a private party.VictorB
Good pizza joint. No frills and pretty much self service. Order at the counter for your pizza and then at the bar for your drink. Good selection of whole pies and slices. College hangout but a favorite for all ages.
I didn’t like how the cashier who is handling the register also grabs the pizza with her bare hands without washing them nor applying hand sanitizer. I understand they put it in the oven to heat it up, but it’s still gross, especially during these times. Food should never be touched without proper hygiene measures especially coming from the register where money is being handled.
